That’s why I said Mitch McConnell should have sent them right back to the house and declare them as null and void because they didn’t contain any actual crimes.
They can argue about it in history about whether or not he was actually impeached then AND it would have highlighted that point.
Qassam Soleimani didn’t understand it either.

It’s an honor to be impeached by that group ... and to come out stronger than ever.
President Trump’s legacy will also be sprinkled with the many obstacles he has, and will, overcome as he does more for the Nation and the People than any in our lifetimes.
reality is Dems missed a step (didn’t vote to form impeachment committe) and Repubs didn’t call them on it, just went along with what House was doing. Repubs don’t like Trump except for what they can get out of him being in presidency.
Truth is truth, but yes it is playing out as if all the rules were follwed though the first step was missed.
I think this is why Trump at times called it fake impeachment etc
There were several times in the house committees the republic should have walked out
