Iran will bluster and the West will wring their hands, but more than any single action taken during the Trump administration this one told the world that he means what he says.
He has been quite clear about his position that he does not want to invade any nation, but he will act to protect American interests.
Thanks to Kerry, Pelosi, the professional diplomats, and our media, they did not believe he was serious. He was.
The decision now belongs to Iran. Do they strike out and suffer far worse to save face? Lest we forget, they have backed down before but the stakes are very high for them and the position of the regime is precarious with the Iranian people.
