Swallwell is too stupid for words.
Who pray tell was going to back us if we were attacked? Aside from most of the Anglosphere, maybe only one or two here or there. Anybody who ever thought we could count on the Yurps is a hopeless fool. They’re not allies and they lack both the ability and the will to defend themselves much less anybody else. That’s why it really doesn’t matter what they think. They’re feckless impotent leeches anyway.

Other than the Brits they only made token gestures in Afghanistan and not even that in Iraq. For example the Germans in Afghanistan had to be sent way up north where they wouldn’t see combat and they could not be taken along with Brits and Americans on combat missions because their rules of engagement are so restrictive they cannot open fire unless directly fired upon first. When the former German defense minister visited the few troops they had there, he proclaimed them “too fat to fight”. Things got far worse for the Bundeswehr since then.
Swalwell and his ilk, in promulgating the Russia collusion hoax and spreading the Trump Derangment Syndrome internationally, have caused much of the antipathy, such as exists, among our “allies.”
We don’t need allies to defend us. We know where our ‘’allies’’ are when they need us.
