Trump has his own plane. He doesn’t have to fly her commercial. SS would get behind closed doors with the Chief of Staff and there would be elevated voices about something like that. Huge risk.
When she flies on a military aircraft for non-official purposes, the President essentially buys her a ticket by reimbursing the government for the costs.. Do you understand that it is official USG policy that the First Lady and the President not fly on commercial aircraft?

I can’t imagine Melania sitting in a plane full of Trump haters. If nothing else, people would be constantly walking down the aisle giving her the finger and making snide remarks.
Did Michelle Obama or even Laura Bush take commercial flights home while their husbands were in office? I doubt it. I say let her fly home in safety and peace.
