He needs to end this kind of funding to all companies. With current technology electric cars are not as efficient as Gas powered vehicles, and they are creating a Lithium waist field.
Government needs to back clear away from several things they are now involved in, the auto business being one of them. Let them build what the public wants or just cease to exist. Same goes for the “renewable energy” businesses.
There’s the rub - when one is taking ‘gifts” from the government, one must expect strings to be attached....if they hadn’t been aptly rebranded as “Government Motors” I would heartily agree with your being conflicted..

Subsidies needed to have been cancelled two years ago.
Equipment is fungible. Ship it back to the US by rail and make GM trucks in the US. Full stop.
You can’t make the USG a partner in your business and not expect them to have a vote. Especially if they are ONGOING partners through subsidies.
They shouldn’t hvae been subsidized in the first place.
