I do that too, but have done one more thing.
I have my ringtone set to default, but for every name on my contact list, have gone through and set the ringtone to classic telephone ring.
It took some time to do that but it was well worth it because now I can tell simply by the ringtone if I even want to think about looking at it to answer it.
And my policy is that is its an unrecognized number, they can leave a voice mail if they really want to reach me and about one time in a hundred, that happens.
Great stuff.....
I just don’t answer if the number is not in my contacts. Anyone who calls me and I don’t have them as a contact needs to leave a voice mail.
I wonder what percentage of calls are spam calls? Bet it’s an impressive number.
Here is WhitePages reverse phone look-up.
https://www.whitepages.com/search/ReversePhone
There is a pay option for complete details, but if you just want to know if a number is spam, it’s free to see if others have looked up the number or if the site classifies the number as a spammer.
I did leave a message for the parents, and I also have an authorization to order whatever medical care is needed in case we cannot get in touch with anybody.
Their refusal to take the call was not a problem for me. It was not a problem for the paramedics. The boy really wanted his mama when he came around. He wept aloud when they started to transport him. It was the mother who realized that she wished to be there, and it was her own fault we could not contact her.
She entered everybody’s numbers into her phone list so that she could recognize us when it happens again. (Just answer the phone!) We made all the other parents give us more contact numbers, but that is no good if they all accept this new fear of answering the phone.
Some people cannot use their phones while they are at work. So we told them to give us the boss’s phone number.
Sometimes that doesn't work. I've blocked over a half dozen numbers which called offering a free health screening in association with my insurance plan. The calls came from area codes associated with Maryland, Georgia, Florida and Texas. All with the identical message being left in my voice mail.
I finally answered one that gave me the option to press #2 to receive no more calls from them and it worked......LOL!
"Idiot" is not the right word here. Best usage, an idiot is one who jeopardizes others or himself by his selfishness. It comes from the Greek idios, one's own or private, and applies to those who voted largesse for themselves at the risk of the military and financial destruction of the city state. A driver who pulls out in front of you is an idiot. A democrat voter or politician is an idiot.
I am very sorry that I cannot recommend an insult that you would find satisfying. Alas, a man so worthless as I is incapable of being insulted, but if you say, "please", then I will accept your next one without pedantic comment.
Turned off the ringer on my phone. Phone # shows up on tv screen.
If its important you’ll call my cell.
I love messing with these people though.
My favorite, oh you sound hot! What are your wearing? Do you have panties on?
Phone calls are usually pretty short.
Watch a guy named Tom Mabe and how he handles them, it is halarious
There’s a thought.
When you can stop telemarketers then we will discuss gun control.
I often do that but its still a PITA.
