I've said the exact same thing! The problem with that idea, however, is that means elections have be at least partially electronic. While blockchain may reduce the ability to fudge votes tallied, it does not prevent someone voting more than once.
They'd have to come up with a system to provide each voter with a blockchain ID that is somehow unique to that voter's personal information such as a driver's license number or SSN, and then you're getting into the whole liberal crying point of voter identification being disenfranchising.
