“But any gun you have to pay for with a second mortgage aint for me.”
“How much is your life worth?”
My bottom line figure is the price of a Colt 1911.

Funny, the price of my life is not the price of the gun - but the ammo I send downrange. That’s inexpensive. I will buy/make more.
Guns are like booze and women, really fun when you have one in each hand.
I bought the pistol from a sheriffs deputy at a gun show.
He bought it new and had put less than a box through it, when his boss mandated staff be armed with nothing less than a 9 MM.
I paid a good price but the gun was brand new and no paper...
Well.....considering that the local street ape probable doesn’t have the resolve of a Mau Mau tribesman, perhaps you have a point... :)
Hey there! I own a Hi-Point as a shower gun. If it rusts, I will simply buy another.
And Hipoints are reliable contrary to public conceptions.
I like my P238 too but recently came to believe 380 is too little, especially with winter clothing. Recently bought a Kimber Raptor Micro 9 which is about the same size as the P238.
