He can replace him with a Democrat.

Swamp draining is not genteel work. And Jeff Sessions, the consummate gentlemen, has not yet displayed the grit required for that work.

I agree. The question I ask myself is, "who would make a good, 'take no Democrat or liberal prisoners' AG?"

For years, we've seen nothing but kabuki theater from all our Republican friends in Congress - Trey Goudy, Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions included. I'm afraid that no one is up to the task of truly draining the swamp as in putting liberals in high places in jail. In any other world, the Clinton's would be in jail along with a slew of other Democrats (Lynch, Holder, Lerner ....); Obama would have been denied the Presidency because he is not eligible, etc., etc., etc.

Call me cynical, but asking Congress-Critters to clean house (no pun intended) is like asking the fox to guard the hen-house. It just won't happen.

It will take a miracle to see our government revert to the constitutional republic it was intended to be.

In his testimony before Congress, Sessions defend one man, Himself, not a word of Defense of the President.

I noticed that too. The only time he became indignant was when he defended himself. The surrounding witch hunt of his boss didn't produce the same reaction.

This is kind of a conundrum.

On the one hand, Sessions was a US Senator, a creature of the swamp.

His wimping out right out of the gate in regards to the russian inquisition led to mounting doubts.

He may be good for some other job, but AG of DOJ isn’t it.

We don’t need a one trick pony wimp swamp creature for this job.

We need a real law and order nonpartisan untouchable rabid
pitbull who will not back down, and will abide by the US Constitution.

The executive branch of the federal government enforces the law. That is their Constitutional obligation. Time to start doing that.

Wait for the August recess, ask Sessions to resign to spend more time with his family (this will give CNN plenty to talk about) then hire the toughest SOB in the country to fire Mule-er, prosecute Hillary, the IRS commissoner, Lois Lerner and the rest of those SOB’s in that swamp they call DC.

Both decisions he made, and were fully up to him.

Would Trump be calling him out if Sessions was actually kicking butt and taking names?

Five months later and nothing. Zero, zilch, nada. No investigations, no prosecutions. Nothing. Sessions is doing nothing. If he were actually doing something behinds the scenes we would have heard about it. The democrat dirtbag targets would be whining to their allies in the press. No, sessions isnt doing shtt. Fire him. Get an aggressive AG! NOW!

as was his stated intention of using Tyrannical civil asset forfeiture even more aggressively.

Trump was one of the foremost Kelo guys in the country, so it's not surprising at all that he would amp up civil asset forfeiture. That was one of the things everyone who voted for him voted for. It's hypocritical to whine about it.

Kelo was related to Eminent Domain, not civil asset forfeiture, so it's disingenuous to conflate the two.

That was one of the things everyone who voted for him voted for.

Balderdash. Eminent domain one of the things everyone who voted for him voted for him in spite of. But you already knew that.

Nice try though. I see that you've retained your tendency to indulge #NeverTrump impulses...

Sessions does not work with an audience. Everything he does is behind the scenes until it is ready for disposition.

Sorry but recusing himself and letting Mueller and Comey run wild is not exactly behind the scenes.

You want him pounding his fist and screaming into a mike. Ridiculous!.

No, I want him putting the bad guy/gals in DC on notice the way a Mongoose puts a snake on notice. IMHO, tired old senate critters are not good AG material. They're just swamp critters who have too many other swamp critters as friends. He needs to go.

it's disingenuous of you to say that's it's indigenous. They are both examples of government being entitled to private property. So, yes, they are CLOSELY related. People who agree with one agree with the other. People who disagree with one disagree with the other. They came from the same root belief. It's ridiculous to deny that.

The bottom line is I don't think the government has the right to take your property. You believe the government has the right to take my property. (And your property, too!)

No, I don't think most knew that. The media made a huge effort to conceal anything like that.

> Then they should have vetted these people better before nominating them. What a friggin waste of time and money. It looks like they didn’t know what they were doing. <

Excellent observation! General Flynn is in as National Security Adviser. Then he’s out. Sean Spicer is in as Press Secretary. Then he’s out. Now Sessions might go that same way.

Turnover over a period of years is normal. Turnover over a period of months is not normal.

“Would Trump be calling him out if Sessions was actually kicking butt and taking names?”

No, and how bad did it have to get behind the scenes for Trump to actually come out in public and make those statements about Jeff?

It’s obvious to me that Sessions is defiant and refusing to step down. Imo, he’s been in on this special counsel coup from the get-go.

It’s just an issue that never gets any attention in the media, period. If the media thought it would have hurt Trump to discuss it, they would have. I’m not even sure the average joe 1) knows about it 2) even if they do know about it think its very rare and 3) wouldn’t happen to them.
