There is something very unwelcoming about FR unless you have been here a long time. Thus it skews older which is never good for an organization.
I belonged to a conservative synagogue with a young nice rabbi but if I came to services with my kids, quite young, and one had special needs, the old timers were constantly shusshing us and making me feel unwelcome. I spoke to people about it to let them know, and then I left. The little group of oldies got smaller and smaller. If you don’t welcome young people you die.

17 years for me here...of FR...it is just nice to see enthusiasm for conservative principals. One thing..they never hold back there on The Donald...
For more in depth analysis its FR...for meme wars its The Donald...
Allow me to add:
The thing about The Donald that fills me with hope and inspires me is that they are young people.
I had previously written off that demographic.
I was wrong, and happily so.
That said, I love (old) FReepers. There is an incredible knowledge base here.
Heck, today a FReeper posted a link about the history of bees in North America. It was cool. I learned something!
Me, too, but I love those kids. They’re OUR monsters!
They speak the language of their generation and have the internet skills to compete w/the progs. It’s like having a motorcycle club as your personal security.
Remember Tony the Tiger? GRRREAT!
Can we say “fake immigrant” too?
Noticed it on reddit earlier today, been using it at every opportunity.
Loved some of the comments there, like this one:
“I think Ayn Rand has a good point on the liberal philosophy that relates to this. She says that every person in their mind has their own philosophy and that the rational person tries to hammer out any contradictions in it. She says the liberal philosophy has a lot of contradictions (like this guy and his view on private/public schools) and this forces their mind to not feel completely right, almost fake. And they know it. The left hates our confidence and how sure of ourselves we are. And we are confident because our philosophy is in its principal sound and whole. So I can definitely see why they get triggered by it, it’s calling them out on their beliefs down to their very core. They get angry because they know you’re right but they’ve spent their entire lives thinking this way and it’s too hard to go back now. So anger is the only way now.”
That does seem to be what liberals hate the absolute most about conservatives.
Our confidence.
In fact, that was the core of a close relative’s most venomous screaming rant at me. There is a reason conservatives are confident and statists are so easily triggered. Only one side of that fight can truly back up their claims. (with actual “Endowed by the Creator” truth, not fake truth, “true” feelings, or fake facts.)
“Fake Americans” hits home because it’s absolutely on target. I bet we see it in Trump’s communications soon.
bump
It bothers libs because it's true. Their entire agenda is fake.
Of course Obama was the ultimate fake American. Hillary and John Kerry are not far behind.

It may be the awareness that these asshol*s they idolize are all fake Americans that causes the snowflakes to go berserk when they hear the world “fake,” especially when used in reference to themselves.
I just moved to a suburb of Filthadelphia where most of my neighbors are fake Americans. I set up my new wireless network and named it “MAGA Trump”. I’m sure that is causing heads to explode.
