The music was great until the British Invasion of the Beatles and other groups.
Most of the music then went to crap, teen angst and sexual innuendo songs abounded.
Even today I have bad flashbacks when the oldies radio plays the post 1963 music. Music of the late 1950s is great!

Dickson St, the a Grey House, Lafayette House and the Dream Merchant along with The Grapevine kept Fayettevile going in those days.
Totally agree. I always contend that “the 50s” lasted until the Kennedy assassination and the arrival of the Beatles; “the 60s” lasted until the end of the Viet Nam war and the arrival of disco. The eras didn’t fit neatly into decades.
