Schools that want the Fed. grant $$$
The law makes an important change to the Childrens Asthma Treatment Grants Program and other federal asthma programs, which authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services to give funding preferences to states for asthma-treatment grants if they: maintain an emergency supply of epinephrine (EpiPens), if they permit trained personnel of the school to administer epinephrine, and if they develop a plan for ensuring trained personnel are available to administer epinephrine during all hours of the school day.
This should be of interest to you.

There certainly are alternate technologies.
I have seen designs and functional samples of autoinjectors that use a compressed liquid that expands to gas, rotates a screw and pushes on the plunger system to expel contents.
Variables for injection time include needle ID, solution viscosity and volume to be injected. Typical water based solutions have injections times of <10sec.
More info has come out about this company...the reports said something about stock purchases linked to exclusive use in FED reimbursements and huge profits on the stock increase.

I do know of “new” on-body auto injectors coming from some companies.
Not really for emergency use, instead they dose for insulin and some chemo now.
