The Starbucks Cup Farce (vanity)

I use to buy Starbucks Iced Coffee a lot. Then I discovered how to make the same thing at home. This tastes almost exactly like Starbucks Iced Coffee.

First, buy Trader Joes Italian Roast whole beans (13-oz canister - “Dark Roast Rich & Bold” - UPC 0055 1427). Grind the the beans at home. Brew with bottled water in a French Press (I use 4 level coffee scoops - [8-Tbsp] of coffee grounds per 32-oz of water). Brew 4-minutes then plunge coffee. Remove from French Press and chill in fridge. Also make some coffee ice cubes from this brew. This chilled brew, combined with the coffee iced cubes tastes exactly like the Starbucks Iced Coffee. Also saves a lot of money.

I think people for this fact: many of the World War II and Baby Boomer generations associate the solid red color with Communism (look at the flags of the People's Republic of China and the former Soviet Union--solid red with smaller yellow-colored symbols on the flag). The Generation X, Generation Y and Millenial generations don't easily make that association, and as such are far less offended by what Starbucks did.

In short, the view is a very generational thing.
