They actually made a version of the Gremlin with a V8 engine. It was far too fast for its brakes, suspension and steering.

Mine dropped a valve seat driving home from work one day and I had to drive it on 3 cylinder until I could find a replacement head for it. Good times...........LOL! Sometimes you gotta use what you got.

I understand what you mean...the Aztec isn't uglier than a whole lot of other stuff out there. But I wouldn't compare it to SUVs as much as the family of 'crossover' vehicles that have come out lately. An example is this Lexus. Just a re-styles minivan with 18" rims.
