Those conservatives who are jumping on his bandwagon will find out real quick in a Trump presidency our kind would not be welcomed or tolerated.

On social issues, you may be right. But on immigration, defense, and economic issues I think Trump would please most conservatives.
The Uniparty deserted the People long ago. Time for Trump and Cruz to form a party to represent the folks.
MY hope is that after this Cruz will demand a recorded vote on EVERY piece of legislation run thru the senate.
No more, Deemed by the Chair to have the Majority voting Aye.
Hold the Bastards accountable.
And in so doing, they merely prove Cruz’s point.
I have to admit... yours is better - more true to life/history/Bible.
The empire is cesspool
“So slapping the guy who called them out is much more important then the welfare of the country.
Noted.
Nice to have them spell out their priorities so clearly.”
Hatred and white hot obsession towards those who exposed them...they will try to focus on little else but getting even and pushing Cruz (and other like-minded people)out. In their mind, once that is done then once again we will fall in line as we will have no choice.
Bingo. Great point. Should we all be like this with our customers at work? No.
Orin Hatch is just another Poster Boy for TERM LIMITS!!!!
What?
Suppose Cruz were elected Vice President, making him President of the Senate. Could he (instead a President pro tempore) then in fact effectively (rather than ceremonially) preside over the Senate and, rather than the Majority Leader, control the Senate's agenda?
I know the procedural trend has run in the opposite direction, with Vice Presidents showing up only to break ties, but could a motivated and knowledgeable VP buck the trend and preside with an iron fist while staying within the Senate Rules?
The presiding officer doesn't control the agenda, he (or she) has primarily a ministerial "keep order and follow the process" function. Is there a quorum, who has the floor, and so forth. Rulings from the chair can be powerful (see "nuclear option") but they tend to be process oriented rather than agenda oriented. I know those two things can merge (see advise and consent for nominees), but hopefully you get the idea of what the person behind the desk can (and can't) do.
Thanks once again. While I would prefer Cruz as President, I will be watching C-SPAN a whole lot if he is elected Vice President, just to see how he exercises his authority.
