By the way - those current images of the Arctic sea ice are fake. Al Gore and others said the Arctic would be ice-free by 2015.

Remember - 1979 is also about the time that Time Magazine had the cover story warning of the imminent Ice Age. Probably was a pretty good peak in sea ice extent around 1979.

And Hudson Bay in the Northern Hemisphere is still 50 % covered with ice. 3 rd highest at this date in over 20 years. Hmmmm. What could possibly cause that ? And they call themselves scientist.

I know that the models don’t pay as much attention to the Sun as they should. (”The sun!!?? What - you think that has something to do with climate!!??? DENIER!)

Contemporary solar activity reconstructions, however, show that solar activity increased during the 20th century by 1.5 - 4 W/m2 or 10 - 26 times more than assumed by the NASA-GISS model.....the GISS model uses up to ~5 times less solar forcing anomaly change in comparison to solar proxy data....

In addition, climate models do not consider any of the multiple solar amplification mechanisms which have been described in the literature. Thus, the IPCC and others dismiss the role of the Sun in climate by conveniently assuming solar activity changed 5 - 13 times LESS than the research indicates.

This is from NASA no less. Boy I bet they hated to put this information out.

They made very sure to put out that the Arctic sea ice was shrinking. But you can be sure that, if they were reporting on shrinking Arctic sea ice, they would not feel compelled to mention growing Antarctic ice.
