Let’s see. I’m half Czech and half Sicilian. I researched and googled and can find no reference that any of my relatives ever owned a negro. Therefore, I have no white guilt.

I have three standards as to people with whom I wish to associate:

Are they productive within the economy and society?

Are they nonviolence prone?

Do they subscribe to middle-class American norms and values?

If so, they are my brothers and sisters.

If not, I avoid them.

A large portion of the slave traders were.....Arab Muslims. Most of the slaves were captured by competing African tribes, and transferred to the Arabs, Obama’s family being part Arab and Muslim were almost surely involved in the slave trade, as that is how they converted. The Africans who are Muslim were largely converted because then they couldn’t be enslaved themselves, and did business with the slave traders.

Slavery is associated with a peoples greatness actual or developing. American slavery existed during the period of time we were expanding and conquering a continent. Its death is associated with the closing down of great expansion.
