When it becomes authority it desintegrates in paroxysms of authoritarian dogmatic excess.
...

If the GOP wasn’t propping up the Big Government Democrats behind the scenes they would have died out a long time ago.

I have been on the “Dan List” since the very beginning. :-)

It is so refreshing to read intelligent, insightful, and unabashedly bold conservative writing.

I continue to propose that the ‘Rats should take over Mexico and there create a Utopia such that we all want to move there.

The evidence indicates that Czar Nicholas was a very good person in many ways. Perhaps nobody could have successfully negotiated the situation in which he found himself.

The article contains a fallacy of omission. It is this: the battle between left and right is horribly asymmetrical. The obamacare non-repeal is case in point. The right fought national healthcare tooth and nail, again and again, and won, on the whole, until obamacare was rammed up our asses in the dead of night.
The point is, conservatism has to win over and over again. Marxism only has to win once.
The other aspect of the fallacy is that, even when seemingly defeated, marxism simply shape-shifts into different guises and insinuates itself into power by ingratiating itself politically. Alinsky was the guru of this procedure. We are currently witnessing the results.
So, even if we seem to win by dint of marxism’s failures, we ALWAYS fail to drive the stake into its heart. Conservatism, by its very Judeo-Christian nature, is compassionate and forgiving.
Marxism has no such compunctions.

A successful leftist revolution quickly becomes indistinguishable from an ordinary oligarchy. Millions may die, but decades later all that’s left is a vast pointless bureaucracy that runs on family connections, an ideology no one understands anymore and an impoverished population ripe for outside exploitation.

Sounds like what has happened to this country's present and future.

The only difference was we started out wealthy instead of poor when we embraced the leftist revolution.

We're more like the clueless, Che t-shirt wearing rich kids who inherit great wealth and then party hearty.

To my mind, Mexico is the example of the “Last Colony” on earth. Its less a nation than it is a Colony, or “Colonia” adminstered by an Oligarchy of wealthy Spaniards. I’ve visited Mexico many times and in trying to learn about it, I’ve found studying it to be like peeling back the layers of an Onion. At the core is a cabal of about 100 families who own, operate and control all of everything worth controling in Mexico. Banking, Oil & Gas Industry, Silver mining, Ranching and Farming, etc.

It is truly fascinating.

I wondered at the outset when W wouldn’t defend himself or warn us about the Obama movement if he thought it best to let this ‘revolution’ burn up hot and fast, Americans learning the marxist lesson quicker with a faster bounceback, than stopping zero with American having never learned how deadly the Left is to a society.

President Cruz loves to explain things.. when he’s done no marxist will dare run for dogcatcher.

If you do the same onion-peeling analysis on just about every Latin American country [unless it's been destroyed by full-blown Socialism], I believe you'll find the same multi-family oligarchy owning and controlling just about everything. It's the one common trait that they all inherited from the Spanish colonial period. The only country's colonial legacy that's worse than Spain is: France [Haiti].

When I was in the Army 50 years ago one of my very best friends was Mexican-American. Really handsome, nice guy. He showed us a picture of about 20 young, beautiful girls around a fountain in Mexico—all of them were his cousins. He claimed his grandmother owned half of Mexico City.

He was from California. His father made him join the Army to thank America. They were very rich.

Yes he probably was. But he was czar when the country lost two wars, the Russo-Japanese war and even worse WWI.

One of my professors, was an economic historian who studied Russia pre-1914. It was not a backward country as many leftists would have one believe. The industrialization of the country had begun. The country had fine colleges of engineering, a transcontinental railroad, a shipbuilding industry, and an emerging middle class. Russia 1914 was about where the US was in about 1880 and Japan about 1900.

How history might have been different if Germany had not packed Lenin and his comrades into a train and sent them back to Russia.

True the left like any parasite eventually does die of it’s own accord - but only after it kills the host.

Unless the host develops an immune system to effectively fight the left, there is little consolation in knowing that the it kills itself.
