As my fighter pilot buddies say, that’s a “shack”, SgtH - right on target.

Did you notice something about the posters screen name?

JAG, USAF, R

He knows what he is talking about. You can flag someone while pending charges, courts martial, etc. which suspends favorable personnel actions like promotions, schools, leave, etc. But, pay continues until the charges are adjudicated. His promotions occurred automatically while he was in captivity and can’t be undone except through judicial action.

Yea, but God help us, Barry is CiC.

I don’t know if he can overrule a military tribunal, but he probably can. Which is why they’re fighting this finding so hard. Because pardoning this traitor would be a big stain, on an already big stain, of his Residency.

Oops! My bad. I did mean Article 15. Thanks for the correction. I did say it's been 40 years ago, so I beg forgiveness for being an old guy. :-)

So you're saying we just gave this guy $300,000 and if he's charged and found guilty, the taxpayers never get that money back? If he was a deserter and spent five years in collusion with our enemy, that rewards him for traitorous behavior. That part of the code needs to be changed. That's absolutely wrong.

Thanks for your service to our country.

And to you for yours. Yes, it’s maddening that he will probably get to keep the money.
