and let me just point out, that there was a huge article just today, apparently trying to prime the public to get them ready for massive carbon taxes and fines and rising energy costs, claiming that this year is going down as the hottest on record, that storms have increased from something like 400 per year world wide to now over 600, that oceans have risen 3 inches on average, that arctic ice is melting, that air quality is diminishing, and that species are dying off ‘at a rapid rate, far accelerated from, past die-offs” and that man is entirely to blame because we burn fossil fuels that emit CO2
The article was big on general distortions such as ‘heat trapping CO2’ and ‘Man has been increasing it’s output in recent years ‘at an alarming rate’ (yet man is still only responsible for 3.4% of the 0.04% of CO2 in atmosphere), etc etc etc- these are all grossly distorted claims, making it appear as though man is choking off the atmosphere with icky CO2-
These people writing the articles NEVER bother to state that man’s contribution of CO2 is just 3.4% of a total atmospheric amount of 0.04%- Nature is responsible for 99.06% of the CO2 in our atmosphere- and even at that the amount of total atmospheric CO2 is so small it is nearly undetectable
It would be akin to dropping a drop of lavender oil in the ocean and claiming that people clear across the ocean can smell it in the water there- (or even a bottle of oil or whatever amount that would be equivalent to 0.04% of the ocean’s volume of water)
These articles hyping CO2 are using scare tactics to make hteir case when the reality is that the science simply isn’t there to support their claims- and you watch, if we suddenly go into a cold snap for a decade or so, they will claim they ‘saw it coming’ and ‘predicted it’- so no matter which way the climate goes, they will always claim man is cuasing the change
I've not personally done the math to figure out why such a small percentage of C02 causes issues. I was merely passing on the information that I know.
However, it has been shown that without an atmosphere, the average earth surface temperature would be between -18 °C (255 K) and -5 °C (268 K). However, the average temperature is 15 °C (288 K). So, clearly there is an effect due to the atmosphere.

You must be a manager ;-)
I hate managers worse.
I’m a managing engineer- golly I hope nobody hates me
