Clarification: I mean “law and order” in the sense of a moral society.
A guy was watching from another truck two rows away and I heard him laugh at the girl. Then I noticed he had his hand inside his pocket. I smiled and waved at him on the way out. He gave me a salute and said “Semper Fi.”
Icing on the cupcake? The truck had expired Kalifornia tags on it. So I called it in to the NHP.
Great calming effect moment of open carry. If I hadn't had mine out in the open I think things could of gone different with more belligerence by the hippies in the initial encounter. If they are not a guest of the State they are telling stories about rude Nevadans with guns to their friends. I am OK with that.
Thank you for that. Case in point, guns are better than coffee to stimulate sober behavior... and Semper Fi.
Honestly, I wish the day would come when some fashionistas somehow make sidearms the perfect accessory to any ensemble, talk about turning the tables on the low-info crowd. Picture it in your head; Red carpet gawkers gushing over some hottie celeb's gorgeous evening gown, sparklies by Tiffany, and stylish holster by Gucci....lol
Here in Colorado us pro gun types worked to elect pro gun politicians. At our urging they passed open carry laws. With open carry laws we don't need no stinking government permits that put us in the criminal data base.
As open carry becomes more common it will be considered normal. Outside the big cities open carry is barely noticed.
“We wouldnt even have to THINK about carrying in public means if we had law & order.”
It is how we got to where we are. Society was so well ordered, and crime so low, that no one considered any need to carry arms.

I carry mostly for political purposes:

“If I see a guy carrying a big gun like this while I’m shoping(sic), I have to assume he’s a bad guy and shoot him. “
So they would shoot a plain clothes policeman. Interesting.
“Why is she carrying a gun in Kroger? These peoples brains are not connected to their mouths.”
She’s carrying a gun in Kroger so she can shoot anyone who has a gun in Kroger.
Self correcting situation?
Yes, but their gun is presumably concealed, so it would take still one more level of paranoia to feel threatened by their capacity to shoot.
What if the shoulder strap is for his MP5?
Some people dress up to go out.
Somebody explain to the guy that grown men wear pants.
Not in FL.
i’m 62 and i wear shorts as much as possible, given Colorado weather. i vote for open carry legislation and politicians but i don’t open carry. i know the arguments on both sides but all of my friends who conceal carry do so for that extra tactical advantage. of course, as Mossad Ayoob says, you have to alter your wardrobe in some cases to make it work.
