Sultan Knish/Daniel Greenfield Ping List notification of new articles.
FReepmail or drop me a comment to get on or off the Sultan Knish ping list. I highly recommend an occasional look at the Sultan Knish blog. It is a rich source of materials, links and more from one of the preeminent writers of our age.
We are uniquely privileged to be able to enjoy DG from our perch at FR.

I am a Jew in my heart in my mind and in my spirit.
I am a Christian. That makes me a Jew. It is not food or language or living in Israel. It is the people of the One True G-d. And, yes, of His Son, Jesus Christ.
I am grafted into the body of The People through Christ.
G-d chose the People. He did not choose my ancestors. My ancestors chose to become one with The People.
Those who in their confusion profess Christ and hate Jews do not know Christ, a Jew. Nor do they accept the One True G-d who calls His People by name.
I am one with The People of Israel. That is my claim and is the source of my Hope and my peace.
Ich bin ein Juden.
YES!
Wine may bring sunshine to the body but a fresh Knish enriches the soul. His writings sustain the truth of the heart over the fickleness of the mind.

Wie viele leute sind Sie?
You can love the Jews as a Christian, but there is no reason to also proclaim yourself as a Jew, too. You aren’t. That is why Paul was commissioned by Jesus to go to the Gentiles and proclaim the Gospel. There was no requirement to adhere to the cultural and religious practices of the Jews to be a Christian. That truly was Good News for us former pagans.
On Greenfield:
His writings sustain the truth of the heart over the fickleness of the mind.
We are many and we are one.
Paul proclaimed to the pagan he could become one with The People through Christ with no cultural intermediary - no circumcision, no kosher diet, no adherence to the Law.
He did not deny Judaism to the follower of Christ. Nor was he establishing a new religion apart from Judaism.
"Ich bin ein Juden." Should have been: Ich bin ein Jude!
I pray when the American train breaks down we'll learn to ride a bike and then if necessary ... to build a boat. Jews offer the map and the way - they've been on this path a long time. We're thankful for the warnings.
Way too verbose
My rusty German. Thanks for the clarification.
I converted to Judaism back in 1969 - so I do know something about this. In 2000 I became a born-again Christian. Christ is the fulfillment of Judaic prophesy - He is the one true Messiah. Correct, He didn’t come to establish a new religion but to complete God’s Mission on earth. Many of the Jews rejected that Truth when Jesus was right there working his miracles and teaching them — rejection of Jesus continues largely due to fear of being shunned from one’s family and stubbornness/blindness due to comfort in dogma (nothing new under the sun). However, if a pagan chose to be Jewish as well as follower of Christ, he/she has to follow all the rules and regs of being a Jew. I have no idea how many went that route, but I am guessing not many.
So, no, I don’t choose to identify with the Jews who choose to ignore the Truth. I have sympathy for some, I have admiration for some, and love them all as fellow human beings. I am not deluded to think that they look at me as part of them - mutual tolerance is the best to be attained, IMHO.
Yes, Christ is the fulfillment of Judaic prophesy. His rejection by Jews does not, however, break G-d's promise to the Jews that they are His chosen people. G-d does not change His mind. We must look for a deeper truth.
I am one with the Chosen People because Christ, a Jew, allows me to hide in Him (the cleft in the Rock). Jesus practiced Mosaic Law. Many Messianic Jews are followers of Christ.
But religious Jews think that Christianity, the Trinity, Jesus Son of God and God incarnate, is an appallingly blasphemous heresy, and those words are too weak to describe it. Non-religious Jews will tolerate each other pursuing atheism, trans-humanism, Shamanism, Buddhism, but not Christianity - the line which cannot be crossed.
You might consider yourself a Jew, grafted to the tree, and while some Jews appreciate your support, I doubt you will find Jews who think you are a Jew.
I suspect more Jews would see their Messiah if they didn’t have to see the greco roman latin counterfeits..
Kind of hard to see Torah become flesh and dwell among one if they see december 25 and things like good Friya day and easter sun’sday as that savior’s holydays-that bear no linkage to Torah..
Considering He fulfills the new moons, Sabbaths and feasts in Torah -a Torah obaervant Jew should expect to see a little of that in the Messiah..
Christendom ignores those new moons, Sabbaths and Feasts and has come up with their own.. but Jews have adopted the Greco roman calendar and their own pope gregory appointed Sabbath themselves..so the blame gets spread around.
Like the whole world is full of counterfeits. I wonder who wins with that scenario..
My allegiance is to G-d and His promise. The inability of some Jews to accept me as a member of the Chosen People is of vastly less concern to me than that G-d accept me as such.
Pish. The comparison is not to an American who renounces his citizenship, but to an American who loathes his country and undermines it.
And there is still a continuum of valid Jewish criticism of Israel’s actions and policies, to Jewish loathing of Israel, making a side-branch for those Jews who live in Israel, hate Arabs, and yet do not believe in the legitimacy of the state of Israel, because they have not seen God’s hand in its creation.
Not to mention, the whole article very much brings up the question of potentially conflicting loyalties.
