If a group or church points to its founder and promotes him as ‘the restorer of truth’ and/or a ‘new revelation’.... They are making the same mistake the Pharisees did by following mans leadership......... They do not follow the true shepherd but other shepherds.

Roody is an “other” shepherd and a counterfeit.

You just can’t make this stuff up!!! It was correct other than being incorrect!

You apparently remain unaware that Rood is and has been exposed as a fraud.

...” Shouldn’t TRUE Christians warn others when false prophets try to scam the sheep?”....

Indeed..and it’s a Mandate as far as I’m concerned. To do otherwise, when one knows someone is spreading false teachings among the sheep, is to be a participant with them if they don’t speak out against these teachings.

That doesn’t mean every Christian needs to do this.....I say this because the wolves coming at the body of believers today are fox sly in every way and travel in packs.....the masks they wear are not easily detected....and many are heavily into using scriptures which far too many Christians are unfamiliar with, so they are easy prey.

I also think too many churches are so wrapped up in gaining members that they loose track of the sheep altogether. The enemy of men’s souls loves the large herds of sheep....he can hide there and do his dirty work often going unnoticed.

It’s called denial in the face of truth.

Never an easy thing to come away from false teaching, the longer one remains in it the harder it is to see the truth as it really is. Especially if one’s been promoting those teachings to family and friends or defending it.

I do think that is one of the reasons the body of Christ has many members with gifts at varying levels and degrees of. Some are more sensitive to truth when it is twisted and are quick to see it...others standby to assist the individual when they are ready to come away from these false teachers...and still others will encourage and standby. I have seen this happen many times...it’s a beautiful thing to see Jesus work among His people.

However, the strongholds have to be brought down..and even when they are some individuals will try with their might to rebuild them again....or they simply walk away from God completely.

....but when they are ready... God is so very faithful and meets them as soon as they turn once again to Him.

A true believer cannot stay away from God for very long....He will miss Him too much!

I’m saying that Michael Rood is definitely called to do this important work. He was the chief mover in the restoration of the Biblical calendar, and that is one of the most important end time revelations we’ve had. He has never claimed special revelation, but it is clear that he is called for this.

From http://www.seekgod.ca/roodzodiac.htm:

Michael Rood has neglected to point out that the resources for their calendar calculations are found in astrology, numerology and kabbalist gematria. These calculations are also found in the teachings of Oriental, Egyptian, Chinese, Hindu, Zodiac and Gaia based calendar information he and his associates source for the "Astronomically and Agriculturally corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar."

In his "Calculations for the Yearly Calendar According to the Aviv Barley in the Land of Israel in the Corrected Year 6002", which has since been corrected and rewritten, a common occurrence with his articles, we find Michael aligning with kabbalist thought, as well as confirming his calendar calculations with Freemason thoughts. He notes that certain information was hidden from the average person, but he will enlighten us. Forgive the length of the quotes, but Michael Rood is not a man of few words.

"...The spring of 2002 saw an early barley ripening in the land of Israel. I arrived in Jerusalem in time,...Many who have joined the Karaite, Rabbinic, and Messianic Jews in the restoration of the Biblical Hebrew Calendar believe, as I do...

...The modern Jewish calendar indicates that this is the 5,762nd year from Creation, ... Schwab proposed that Daniel's mandate to "seal up the word and close the book", authorized Daniel to expunge certain historical events from his writings... Jewish sages may have assumed that same right as they eliminated critical chronological information under the premise of "sealing up the book" when they hid the Book of Genealogies from the eyes of the common scholar. So, what time is it?

....the Creator's reckoning of time has been erased from modern man's cognizance; the world is fast asleep, unaware that 4000 years + 2000 years equals 6000 years, and that we have already entered the 7th millennium, the Sabbath millennium, the Day or Millennium of the LORD.

Last year there were several events that led us to setting the calendar year at 6001. On March 26, 2001 the new moon sighting and the fact that the barley in Jerusalem was aviv, confirmed the beginning of the year. During that week, a singular event in the history of the human race was proclaimed in Jerusalem. Twice during the week a large contingency of both Sephardic and Ashkenazi rabbis met at the wall to announce, "The time of Jacob's trouble has now begun!"

The morning that we finalized the 6001 Calendar, we prayed for confirmation. That afternoon I was in a Florida hotel, and as the doors to the grand ballroom opened, out poured the festively attired members of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida. The banner over the speaker's dais celebrated the 172nd annual meeting of the Grand Lodge of Florida. While musing over the longevity of the Lodge, we picked up a "2001 Budget and Legislation proposal" that was left behind on a chair. The official Lodge seal indicated that the Lodge was formed in the year A.L. 5830. I quickly calculated 5830 years + 171 annual conventions to equal the year 6001 according to Masonic reckoning. A Mason later confirmed that this year all official Masonry documents are signed 2001 A.D. - 6001 A.L. I also discovered that A.L. represents “Anno Lucis” in Latin, which means “in the year of the light”. Of course, I am not a Mason, nor do I espouse their doctrines, I just find this fascinating from an historical perspective..." 1

It should be noted that A.L., the Year of the Light, is based on the Freemason belief that is when the light or truth of masonry was revealed, according to Mackey's Encyclopedia. Rood went on to say,

"... For years I had stated that if the Oslo Peace Accord was the Covenant with Death of which the prophet spoke, it would have to be annulled by violence before Tishri 1, of the seventh year, October 28th 2000 on the corrected calendar. I projected that the violence would erupt on Elul 1, (corrected) " September 28th 2000, sundown in Jerusalem." ... I cannot claim any prophetic insight concerning this coincidence. I never said," thus saith the LORD." My opinions and calculations are just that. I projected the violence to begin September 28th simply by calculating the first day of the month of Elul, ... I coupled that with my understanding of the Hebrew Prophets and my loose grasp of the geopolitical world in which I have lived nearly 50 years. I did not receive any dates by Divine revelation. There have been no angelic visitations of which I am aware, or trips to heaven, hell, or Katmandu. That year, I offered my observations, calculations, and opinions to over 100,000 people in public venues. Every time it was spoken with a qualifying “IF” – the difference between calculated projections and prophetic declarations. ..."

"...The weight of evidence, according to the wisdom of the ancients [ed-occult phrasing] of Judah, compelled me to set the calendar year to 6001 as of March 26, 2001. From the fall of 2000 to the fall of 2001 was determined to be the 7th Sh'mittah or Sabbath year from when we reentered the land in 1948. ... This would indicate that a war of apocalyptic proportions is due from Tishri 1 to Tishri 10 in the fall of 6002 / 2002."

    Waiting for you in Jerusalem,

Michael John Rood Feast of Unleavened Bread 6002 / 2002" 2

Notice Michael's claim of when, "we" reentered the land...meaning the Jewish people, of which Michael now claims to be one. The following are some of Michael Rood's failed false prophecies, which are also based on his and Robert Wadsworth's astronomical calculations.

Rosh Hashanah, (Tishri 1) which equates to sundown, September 11, 1999 was to be the year 6001, the "Great and Notable Day of the LORD". It was based on Rood's theology that an error was introduced in the Jewish calendar, which makes the generally accepted date off by several years. Although the Rapture was not expected then, Rood falsely declared the beginning of "...bloodshed, plagues, and all manner of pestilence", followed at some unspecified time by the coming of the Messiah.

On September 24, 1999, Rood, with an obviously greatly increased perception, stated, "The countdown to the 7th millennium came and went without incident." In his imagination, the Day of the Lord was postponed for just one month, giving time for a month of preparation, according to his occult based, "astronomical and mathematical evidence". October 11-12, 1999, ended the proclaimed and required thirty days "preparation" for the Day of the Lord.

Rood changed his 1999 false predictions to April 5, 2000, stating again that The Day would begin with, "bloodshed, plagues, and all manner of pestilence." Then, again, in September 29, 2000, declaring the Hebrew calendar false, he stated his " corrected" timeline of events meant that the seventh millennium or millennium of the Lord began on either April 6, 2000 or May 5, 2000.

May 5, 2000 is the date other occultists also proclaimed for the dawning of the New Age, also claiming that celestial events beginning August 11-September 9, would culminate in a "cosmic event" or New Age "day of judgment." May 5, 2000 was viewed as the "Dawn of the New Light." New Agers believed that May 5, when all of the planets were in alignment, would be the day for that judgment, and they used the same calculations as Rood and friends. And they were just as wrong. Rood expected the invasion of the United States and Israel, with the concept of Gog and Magog, either at the end of September, 2000 or October 28, 2000, although his so-called prophecies are becoming more open ended.

Robert Wadsworth, Roods calendar calculating colleague, and whose Biblical Astronomy Newsletter is the vehicle for much false prophecy and occult data, prophesied April 26, 1997 as, "The beginning of the Great Tribulation." Wadsworth also believes that the Sun revolves around the Earth.

Many additional "mistakes" Rood has made in his date setting can be found in the above link. If he has convinced people he is "called for this", they should be aware that he has not been truthful, consistent nor accurate in what he claims he is led to.

The comforting thing is that God will bring back those who are His. Jesus said that none of those who the Father gave Him would be lost. You are right about watching the different ways God is using different people. We can see that just in these threads.

It's not likely to be “Satan's work” to expose a false prophet. In fact, Satan would like nothing better than to condemn those who try to do so. What makes you think I am the one that is helping the devil and not yourself?

The more I read about Rood, the more convinced I am that he is NOT someone doing the Lord's work. Some of what he teaches DOES sound like the stuff you vociferously defend here. Is Rood the reason why you defend a “Hebrew/Aramaic” version of Matthew? The keeping of feasts? The condemnation of those who use the name “Jesus” and not “Yehoshua”? The denial of the Deity of Jesus? I AM starting to see where you have been learning this stuff. If Michael Rood is exposed as a sham, where does that leave you?

Well he didn’t say “Thus saith the Lord” so there is that……..right?

And he didn’t out and out say he was a Rabbi so we do have that….right?

And he didn’t out and out say he was ordained by a legitimate church or attend any seminary or real religious training so there is that……..right?

And he didn’t deny he was using occult considerations for his calendar so there is that………right?

It is most definitely Satan’s work!

You apparently seek to cover the truth of the Word in a layer of Dispy doodle pre-trib I-don’t-have-to-obey-no-steenking-savior “grace” applied to who knows what end.

Just what would grace do if you never conformed to Yeshua?

Just what is a “legitimate” church?

Yeshua gave us no “great men” to legitimize anything, he gave us his word alone. Wherever two or more are gathered in his name is where Yeshua meets his elect.

And where do you suppose Rood learned his Greek and Hebrew?

You make Jim Bakkar seem spiritual.

You make Bill Clinton seem honest by comparison.

Take your dispy pre-trib nicolaitan circus down the dusty trail with the rest of your Gypsies.

We can see the Holy Spirit working in Rood’s ministry, and we can see what is working in yours too.

Wow! That appears to me like demons lashing out. Satan is the father of lies and you have been shown lie after lie from this Rood character. There is no defense for a person like that. I implore you to get away from his teachings before its too late.

>>>>Just what is a “legitimate” church?<<

I most certainly is NOT a cult called “The Way International”.

>> We can see the Holy Spirit working in Rood’s ministry<<

The Holy Spirit doesn’t encouraged to go back under the law nor does he encourage a person to not confess that Jesus is God. The Holy Spirit said this.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1: 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Denying that Jesus is the One True God of scripture is denying Christ and that doesn’t come from the Holy Spirit.

A distinguishing mark of a cult/false religion is they do not tolerate another’s differing opinions and it is looked upon as being divisive or ‘of the enemy’. Just as has been seen here on this thread numerous times.

...Additionally.... Every false religion has ‘works’ as part of their system of salvation. They also usually specify what works must be performed at a certain level for acceptance to their group and God.... they will either denying God’s grace or add performance...sometimes both.

They will also subtract from the Person of Jesus by saying he is something ‘less’ than Eternal Deity.

Furthermore they will say the Bible is God’s Word but you cannot understand it without ‘their interpretation from their own teachers or books’....such as Roody and his teaching videos.

They have tendency to pronounce other groups as apostate and they alone have the truth.... as well as have Extra sources of biblical revelation....in this case Roody himself proclaims these.

From what defines a cult....Roody’s teachings and his approach is pretty much hitting all the signals.

(Exerts taken from “Let US Reason”...Recognizing cults and false teachers.)
