Huzzah! for the Mencken.
One of my favorite Mencken quotes:
The state or, to make matters more concrete, the government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they cant get, and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time it is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advanced auction on stolen goods.

Thanks for the links! I need to read about Kenpo. My sifu was southern and his style was tiger-crane hybrid. He also practiced traditional Chinese medicine and "fixed" us when we were sick or accidentally trashed ourselves. The tiger link was beautiful!
We watched "Remo Williams--The Adventure Begins" last night.

We have a collection of older Jackie Chan movies which include that one.

Nope. All I got done was the typing and the cross-matching. Tomorrow, I have to be there at 1400 and will spend the next six to eight hours being held hostage by a bag of blood.
Still...if the hemoglobin had been less than 6., I would be in the hospital right now.
So tomorrow, I will take my Nook and my Kindle and a snack and be ready to rock and roll. Sorta.

Good question. You’d have to ask a Tasmanian, I guess.

Better, thanks. Most of us went to the Cub Scouts’ Pinewood Derby this morning, but Kathleen stayed home with Tom, her favorite squishy pillow. It’s been pouring rain most of the time.

Overcast, 47...breezy.
I just found my late eldest sister’s youngest son...He sent me a message on facebook, telling me they have moved to Henderson...What a place to move to!
We will get together next week, I think. How exciting! I haven’t seen him since he was a fat little baby! LOL!

Thanks for the link to Mencken quotes.
He's perhaps my favorite curmudgeon.
Purple remains my favorite color and Suzzy my favorite Roche sister. Or maybe Maggie. Or Terre.

"I will take my Nook and my Kindle and a snack and be ready to rock and roll." Well, duh. Darks coulda told ya that like most of his acquaintances, you'd need to suck up some blood before you'd feel better.
Maybe I should have warned you about him. Or him about you.
.
Hmm. Whose job is it to warn people about me?

Darks and I are kindred spirits...
And as for being warned about you, well, your screen name says it all...NICKnamedBob. I take that to mean, literally, a NICK...like one would get with a knife if one isn’t careful...
So I’m very careful...;o])
