This is a fascinating question...it’s a little like living in Russia in 1917, and having an election between Nicholas II, who, like Obama, dithers, takes lots of vacations, and supports the rich while acting like he cares about the poor, and Vladimir Lenin, who, like his contemporary Vladimir namesake, knows exactly what he wants to accomplish and is willing to destroy his enemies for the sake of power. If Putin were to rule America he would destroy it quickly, unlike Obama, who is destroying our country but doing it more slowly. A quick destruction could not be reversed, while a slow destruction can be reversed, with sufficient pushback—and that, for now, is our only hope.

Putin, just the opposite. While I admire Putin for many reasons, he is more dangerous to the US. And that didn't have to be. Russia should be our number one strategic ally in the war against radical islam. In the past twenty years we should have at least attempted to court Russia.
