Why don’t (former Republican conservatives) in places like MA and CA (at least in areas where they have no chance of winning because they are so outnumbered) FORM a new political party of common sense Conservatism to take on the Dems?-something that hasn’t been tainted by RINOS, corruption and media smears/lies?

Having lived in Mass for some time, I agree. In my opinion, one way to change that situation is to work to encourage greater prosperity in the free states. Residents of Mass, NY, and Calif, for examples, have shown they will leave to go where the opportunities and jobs are. As a result, two things happen in states like Mass. People who are capable, ambitious, and hopeful move to where the opportunities are. The people who are left create a higher percentage of socialists as a result, however, those people put a lot of demands on state gov’t. The decreasing revenues and higher percentage of “baby birds” in such states make the contrast with the freer states more stark. This creates dissent in the socialist states. It is a process that could stop the US from becoming Brazil or Argentina. So long as there are some states that buck the socialist pressures.

If rank and file Republicans didn’t vote for RINOs in the primaries and caucuses, it wouldn’t matter what Rove, Coulter and Crystal said.

That being said, the Rat Markey has a 3% lifetime conservative voting record according to the American Conservative Union. If Gomez had turned out to be no more conservative than Susan Collins, the ultimate RINO, in Maine, he would have a 47% conservative voting record.
I would take 47% conservative over 3% conservative every time.

Collins is far from the ultimate RINO. Gomez is in Linc Chafee territory. His voting record was 90% leftist, identical (in fact) to Hillary Clinton’s when they served together. He recently (finally) became what he always was, a Communist serving in the Democrats.

You would have to be naive to believe Gomez would have remained a Republican. He was Chafee/Jeffords/Specter just waiting to happen. Thankfully, the simple scumbag won’t get the chance.

I’m glad Gomez lost. I would rather be punched in the face than stabbed in the back.

Hard to imagine a conservative in Massachusetts would do any better. Probably worse or about the same.

The problem with conservatism in Massachusetts is that a solid majority of voters don’t want it.

I see you're in NC...a day's drive down I-95 from Massachusetts but light years away politically, socially and philosophically.Simply put the answer is (in the case of my state at least) under your plan a US Senate race might look like: filthy Communist Rat-> 60%...RINO Party-> 20%...Real Conservative-> 20%.Yes,it's true...60% of this state's voters consist of a "coalition" of multi-gernerational welfare parasites and "compassionate trust funders".Your plan wouldn't do a thing to reduce the percentages of that coalition. That is how bad things are here and how bad they've been for the last 25+ years.

I’m certain that the Massachusetts Democratic Party appreciates your support for Senator-Elect Markey.

I’m certain that the Massachusetts Democratic Party appreciates your support for their other candidate, Gabriel Gomez.

Don’t be a moron.

Didn’t you just say that you’d rather be punched in the face than stabbed in the back? With a left winger like Markey in the Senate, you are being shot in the face and in my humble opinion, allowing that is truly moronic.
I’ll take a 50% conservative over a 3% conservative. The Democratic Party has come to depend on Republicans demanding ideological purity or else staying home. When the purists stay home, the liberals prevail. Even though only 25% of Americans identify themselves as liberal.
