Polygamous family lobbies the legislature for decriminalization

A fine point. It would seem that society tacitly accepts promiscuous men who sleep around and have children with multiple women so long as the women and the children are abandoned to the welfare system. But if he takes care of them and supports them then for some odd reason people think that’s wrong.

Aw, you all stole my thunder with that.

We already live in a Quasi-Polygamist society. A Man can have a girlfriend, have a kid with her, then hook up with her Sister/Cousin/Friend and it is the Government that helps support them.

Hell, you could already have a wife and have a girlfriend but as long as you tell people they are your Mistress, and NOT your second wife, it will be okay otherwise people would go absolutely ape.

We really need to take a better look at this issue.

The Enabling Act was and is unConstitutional as it only applied to Utah and not any other state that has since joined the Union.

Wrong. All the new states after the originals had Enabling Acts in one form or another.

And three other states, ID, AZ, and OK had the same provision against ever allowing plural marriage in their Enabling Acts.
