Akin will be gone. Either by doing what any sane person would do and put the country before his big frickin’ ego, or by getting his ass handed to him in November. Just watch.

I have a real problem with this statement. I can see it being used to browbeat people into voting for a particular candidate, with the threat that God will punish them if they don't.

We no longer live in a Christian nation and from this point forward will rarely see a committed Christian running for office. Not in the current political arena and I don't believe it will ever change for the better. Besides, what do we truly know about ANY candidate? All too often I've voted for the one I thought was, "Christian," only to watch them vote time and again against freedom and in favor of statism. What about the so-called Christian Democrat who was supposedly pro-life until he found out that he could benefit by voting, "against his conscience." If I had voted for him, would God be happy with me or not?? How are any of us supposed to predict the actions of an elected official. Truth is 99% of them are corrupt to the core. The are corrupted so easily and so quickly it's hard to believe otherwise.

Sorry, but I don't buy into God judging me according to my voting record AT ALL. Most of the world's Christians, past and present, have lived in non-Christian nations. When it came time to vote, was it a mark against them if they voted for a sinner?

This is so un-Biblical that I'm finding it hard to believe that people are giving credence to it.

I don't know about you but for me the RED FLAGS went up when I found out the pro-abortionists were financially funding the campaign of this man who has since done more harm than good to the pro-life movement.

Could this be why Claire McWhatever likes Akin so much?

If Akin is a real patriot he will find another way to serve our country.

Three of his sons served in the USMC (two are still on active duty) and Akin served as an officer in the U.S. Army with the Army Combat Engineers.

I don't question Todd Akin's patriotism for one minute.

You are right. I never meant to question his patriotism or imply that Akin is anything but a moral, honest and sincere man. I know he’s getting screwed. We all do.

We are in a fight to the death for the soul of this country. Life ain't fair, and if Akin can't handle that he's a bigger jackass than I thought. It's not about Akin. It's about saving the country.

Exactly!! It is about winning back the Senate and Akin, fair or not, is damaged goods. He did not make a "misstatement" by mixing up his words. He blurted out "facts" that are both fiction and offensive at the same time. You just can't do that and still be considered a viable candidate for the US Senate. It also feeds that narrative that Conservative Christians are mean spirited and ignorant. Fair or not, those are the facts.

Akin has branded himself ignorant at the National level. He is down 10-points and near 50% of Missouri voters have a negative view of him. Those numbers are off the charts. There is not enough time and he doesn't have enough cash to run the ads and do the things necessary to repair his extremely damaged image.

Akin will lose in November not because he is a Christian or pro-life. He will lose because he is a weak candidate for the office he seeks.

then we need to recognize who exactly IS in charge.
WE are to do pur best, HE will “chastize/punish/spank” or what ever we call it.

Who knows the strength of the Christian? The tea party does not actually show numbers, so no one really knows how strong we are. How many "representatives" have we "fired"? We now have the to help.
