Amazing! What are the odds that all those pictures happened to have been taken during an earthquake!

Actually, the story is that the unit with the cannon sneaked up on the enemy encampment while they were enamored with the view. The photograph was taken just before the order to fire was given, and the enemy was destroyed.
Glad I could set the record straight.

The civile war wasn’t very long ago at all.
Only a life time and a half ago.
It’s amazing how corrupt, controlling and intrusive our government became in such a short time.
Can anyone imagine how bad it will be in 30 years?

Unfortunately ... I can't seem to find credits or background descriptions for most of these photographs.
The second photo (Union officer on horse) appears to be General Tecumseh Sherman; see

Appreciate any other insight or feedback from other FReeper Civil War buffs who could provide some info about these photos ...
