This gives more reason why Puerto Rico should NOT be allowed statehood. The people there have no clue of American history and constitutional government.
Santorum tried in vain to deny Romney 50% of the vote. It now looks like he’ll get all the delegates. Why is PR allowed to have a say in American elections beats the hell out of me. Do we have a say in their presidential elections?
ROMNEY WINS 51ST STATE
Drudge Headline
Yeah, I just get tired of the “he won all these different scenarios because of a conspiracy” or “he’s only winning votes that dont count” memes. The come off as whining.
I have no doubt that the Mormon thing will soon become daily, but I already have experience seeing that here, so Im kind of burned out on it.
Romney wins where GOP loses and loses where GOP wins. Its the democrats voting for him....
PR is a welfare state, they know which side their bread is buttered on...
Well, Puerto Rico’s President is the US President. Puerto Rico’s executive is a Governor, who is a Republican. And PR is allowed by the Republican Party to have 20 delegates out of 2000 in the nomination. That is about the extent of it. The Republican Party could just as well have 1 conference with party members and pick any nominee they want. But they decided to let territories have a small voice in picking their nominees.
But you think they need to learn American history and Constitutional Government (which they are a part of both) because the Republicans there prefer Romney. Did you have the same complaint when they supported Bush over McCain?
I almost went to Puerto Rico once to procure a 1974 60 foot hatteras with twin cummings diesels for $69K
I should not have passed that up
I understand your point. But regardless of whom they vote for, it still strikes someone as odd that peoples in American territories should have a say in how we choose our president and members of Congress.
I couldn’t help noticing that on the CNN site there was a photo of Romney holding hands with people and the caption read:
Mitt Romney attends a New Progressive Party rally Friday in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ummmm. New progressive party???? I thought he said he was not a progressive.
The two political parties in Puerto Rico are the Popular Democratic Party, which is affiliated with the mainland Democrats, and the New Progressive Party, which is affiliated with the mainland Republicans.
Romney wins like a lib again.

Thanks for clearing that up. So there is no conservative party in P.R.?
Sometimes Santorum reminds me of Henry Clay: "I'd rather be right than president." As we know, that's the way it turned out. Buh-bye Rick. Hello Mitt.

Yep citizens of the United States of America but can’t vote in the General election nor have members in the US Congress.
Yep. 'Fraid so.
Many people around here these days comment without knowing what they are talking about.
Did you see the comments regarding the Immaculate Conception last night? That was hysterical.
LOL! Thanks for putting that in perspective. Based on history then, Romney isn’t even popular in PR.
Well, everything is relative, but in Puerto Rico the New Progressive Party is well to the right of the Popular Democratic Party. The current governor is NPP, and I understand he has substantially cut the budget from what it was under his PDP predecessor.
