“I will not help the GOP in any way shape or form. The GOP establishment let the media and the Democratic Party attack her over and over again. THEY DID NOTHING “

You are correct. Remember the GOP is not conservative, but if we leave the GOP, we cede it to the Establishment Progressives. I understand your frustration but we can’t survive 4 more of Obama.

F the GOP . But, we have to fight for conservatism and save this country.

Well put. The insane savagery from the media was bad enough, but the BACKSTABBING from the GOP establishment has totally alienated me from the Republican Party. I’ve voted GOP proudly my entire life, never wavering a single time, but nowadays, I frankly don’t give a damn about the Party. I’m totally open-minded to a third-party option. The GOP can go suck eggs. And that is doubled if they decide to go with someone like Romney.

I like Sarah but I am not at all surprised by her decision not to run. I never felt she was really going to throw her hat in the ring. However, she did accumulate, and rightfully so, quite a following and she gave millions hope about having someone with guts and a voice. She certainly opened the eyes of a lot of people who, if in smokey back rooms of good old boy politics were fightened by her frankness, and others who relished it and her ability to bring the truth to light.

Now, I hope that her eyes and ears are open...and she endorses Herman Cain as she knows America needs an honest, sincere, diligent and mature leader. Whether her endorsement of him would be to his benefit or not, is to be seen. Some in the media would certainly use her endorsement against him. But, if she chooses anyone else, all her credibility for being a truly concerned American and staunch conservative will go out the window, IMHO.

She did the right thing..

it gives us time (2016 or 2020) to ...
///
nope. we needed her NOW.
if we don’t get a TRUE conservative in NOW,
to undo the damage Obama has done,
there won’t BE anything left for Palin, or our children,
in 2016 or 2020.

the time was NOW. the person WAS Palin.

Perry and certainly not Romney, cannot stop us from falling into the abyss, when Europe collapses and the “Arab spring” turns into a full blown war against Israel. it WILL happen.
...and the 20,000 ground to air missiles that Obama thoughtfully gave to the Islamists, start to be used on our helicopters in Afghanistan.

the current candidates are nice people. but not up to the job.

This goes far beyond pouting. You do what you have to do, I will chose my own path. I am done with the GOP. I will not support them with my $ or my vote, and that includes any PAC/candidate associated with the GOP. The GOP is not any better than the Democrats and they don’t give a damn about this country. For years we have been watching them do nothing but play us for fools. They will have to earn my respect and my vote again, and I won’t be holding my breath.

Didn’t George Washington say he wouldn’t run for President?

It would not shock me if, after the 2012 elections, Governor Palin spearheads a 3rd party movement, particularly if the good-ole-boy GOP types wind up running things.

We’ll see.

“The GOP can go suck eggs. And that is doubled if they decide to go with someone like Romney.”

If we conservatives bail out on the election we will get Romney...there are other options.

Cain is an outsider and a legit conservative. Perry has flaws but is a conservative. I think Perry will do a redo on immigration once the free fall keeps going.

Right now I like Cain. Conservative. Outsider. The only candidate to put forth a Total Tax Reform package.

I have to say that over the past few months some of SP's supporters were more than happy to trash other good conservative candidates in a misguided effort to promote her would-be candidacy.

These must be the same ones now willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Like I said - this isn't about personalities. Its about the damn country. Some folks need to get their priorities straight.

Sarah will have some influence still, but it will diminish. Being a potential presidential candidate was a significant portion of her influence beyond her most ardent supporters.

Willow and Piper need her these next 4 years and I think that weighed heavily on her mind, whether or not it is said out loud. Her instincts were great yesterday and I have faith they will be great tomorrow. I am disappointed but trust in her judgment.

Say hello to Obama’s second term. I will hold anyone that stays away or does a rite in personally responsible for the continued corruption and demise of this county.

Please rethink.

I wasn't a supporter or hater, and I think that goes for a ton of conservatives. Stop the broad brushing.

“...hope that her eyes and ears are open...and she endorses Herman Cain as she knows America needs an honest, sincere, diligent and mature leader.”

That’s the way I see it. If she endorses prior to Iowa, I think it can propel Cain to the front. Actually the CBS Poll has him in a dead heat with Romney now.

Plus when some minor conservatives fall out, Cain will get the bulk of those votes.

I hope.

You didn't have to win Sarah, although I believe you would have.....but as a candidate you would have been hitting out for us everyday.....you would have had a hand in the fight, I am so afraid you have surrendered all your power.....they are no longer afraid of you taking over, and Bambi and the socialists will treat this as their win and America's loss: they have shown a decent person won't run.....

You could have lost and done more good than you will ever be able to do now as a "commentator" as long as that lasts......you have made a dreadfully incorrect decision. You had the world at your doorstep to fight for all of us who couldn't, and by your decision today you have demonstrated that a good and decent person can be "run out of town".......you should have declared and fought......it isn't winning or losing, it's BEING IN THE GAME......all the things you could have done and accomplished have been defeated by your actions today........you have turned you back on millions of people who were silently waiting to stand behind you......

Sarah Palin, you should change your mind and run......BE IN THE GAME

so you have the power to change the rules.......or you will be forever sorry......I walk with the Lord also, and I can tell you, what you could have done for He and all of us, has been greatly diminished by this action......America is crying tonight, you have broken her heart and made yourself and the tea party look like losers...undo this tragic mistake.

The official letter

October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.
In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!
God bless America.

– Sarah Palin
