Hey Travis.
Thank you for the reply, george76. I gathered those links in hopes that you might find the story interesting and pass it on.
Thanks for the links.
I have not yet looked at them yet but plan to
They had to. The German army had a longstanding tradition against allowing itself to be used in operatuions against German civilians. Accordingly, Hitler and Himmler raised and expanded the SS for that role, and the SA for the protection of his National Socialist Party. [NSDAP]
The sheriff and most of the leadership here in Douglas county Ga are upstanding, respected, and respectful men.
“Why do you think SWAT cops like military-style uniforms and equipment so much? Having dishonered their own police uniforms and badges, they’re hoping for undeserved respect and admiration from a public who increasingly see military or paramilitary forces as a more successful community protector than the corrupt and politicized bully cops who’ve failed us over the last few decades- and are getting worse.”
You said a mouthful there. It used to be a police uniform was one of pride and respect and signified the civility of the nation and her people. It was something we all came to respect as a symbol of all of us.

So, what do they need a SWAT team for?
I'm not against police having the tools needed to properly deal with heavily armed criminals if those police are highly trained, disciplined, and not sent on chickenshit operations after Joe Blow and his quarterbag pot selling operation.
Or a 19 yo kid for a probation violation for petty theft...which they never found.
What I'm against is the no knock raids performed by bungling, incompetent, swat teams sent on chickenshit raids by LE leadership who are more politicians than LE. What I'm against are the growing number of no knocks gone bad that obviously are being encouraged to happen to establish fear in the rest of us that seem to happen frequently in the same areas of the country.
