No, she was McCain's running mate.
She has written a lot about her own policies on her
FaceBook page, and linked most of her other opeds that appeared in the WSJ, WaPO, USA Today, NRO and other major publications to her FB page.
Also,
PALINTV-unfiltered has most of her TV & radio interviews, along with some of her major speeches.

I guess it is true, and since it was legal in Alaska at the time, not that big a deal.
Because of the time frame I suspect many people of a certain generation used marijuana at some point.
