He seemed to have some emotional attachment to the Birth Certificate found among his mothers belongings. It may have been the pretty one that the hospitals used to give out. You know, the ones with the calligraphy, the fancy gold seal and the baby's footprint.

Anybody can question his birthplace. It’s a free country. Of course, that doesn’t mean they’re right. There’s no evidence he was born anywhere else.

Yup, mine looks the same, footprints and all. However, in fine print at the bottom of my BC it says “Courtesy of Borden’s Evaporated Milk.” Plus the printed hospital name and location are crossed out and the correct hospital and location are handritten in. I can imagine the speculation and critique on the net about that if I had to submit mine for public view...LOL!
I was born in a very small town and I think they had to borrow a BC blank from the nearest large town.

“Reporters tried to ask him about what gave him the authority to question Obamas birthplace.”
Oh I get it. We are no longer allowed to ask the King questions? What an Obama idiot!

Yup, mine looks the same, footprints and all.Mine too. Mom is the sentimental sort so she kept mine for me.
Ya know, we're aging ourselves with such admissions.

They had all the fancy and foot prints back in the 40s too.

But, if your birth certificate was lost, and you contacted the State to get a copy for legal purposes, would you get a COLB that did not have the footprints, weight, and length information? Just asking...

Well I'm not conversant in what every State issues so I would say you need to ask each individual State.
Off hand I would say no, a State record would not show the information you mentioned.
That's why hospitals keep records.

My kids, both 80s babies, were not given one like it.
I don't know why. Perhaps too prohibitive in cost.

There seem to be quite a few of us '60s babies around here. The
13th generation.
I always thought getting older would be a slower process. It happens all too fast, doesn't it.

It certainly does.
Thanks for the link on the 13th Generation - I’ve not heard that before. Interesting.

I didn’t have them on mine either; but they deemed me too small. My twin brother did and my sister in 48 did. I do have a picture somewhere of me in the hometown newspaper as the smallest baby in the nursery. I looked like a drowned rat. LOL My mother didn’t know she was having twins. The family didn’t tell her my great grandmother was a twin. They said it was the first time the doctor ever swore in the delivery room. “God, there is another one”. LOL Talk about surprises.
