Dr. Chiyome Fukino responds to my Obama birth certificate questions, “takes the Fifth”

On October 31, 2008, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii Department of Health, released a statement verifying that Barack Obama’s birth certificate was on file in their records. However, despite what you might have heard, she did not verify that he was born in Hawaii. And, she did not verify that the certificate on file in Hawaii matches the “COLB” pictured on Obama’s site and at FactCheck.

That hasn’t stopped many people from assuming that she verified something she did not. See the obama citizenship summary for all the details.

I recently sent some questions to Dr. Fukino’s office, and in her reply she basically “takes the Fifth”. The questions and their reply are below. More on this tomorrow...

Here are the questions I sent them:

1. Did that statement (or any other official statement from the state government) confirm that Obama was born in Hawaii , as some have assumed?

2. Did that statement (or any other official statement from the state government) confirm that the certificate you have on file matches the one on Obama’s website?

3. Is it illegal under Hawaii state law to confirm where Obama was born, or to confirm that the certificate you have on file matches the one on Obama’s website?

And, here’s the non-reply reply:

Dr. Fukino has said that her statement stands on its own, and she does not feel there is any need for further comment.

Hawaii State law protects the birth records of all individuals born in our state under all circumstances. State law prohibits the Department of Health from disclosing any information about a Hawaii vital record unless the requestor has a direct and tangible interest in the record. This includes verification of vital records and all the information contained in a record. Call us cynical since we don't believe a damn thing Obama says (with good reason) since he lies every time he opens his mouth.

Shows us the document we are asking to see and it will all go away! How simple is that?!

I didn't really think too much about this until recently since Obama is going out of his way to avoid the question by sending people out to defend him. Something stinks in Hawaii and the White House.

New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress did not properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of President.

Pennsylvania Democrat Philip Berg has three cases pending, including Berg vs. Obama in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a separate Berg vs. Obama which is under seal at the U.S. District Court level and Hollister vs. Soetoro a/k/a Obama, brought on behalf of a retired military member who could be facing recall to active duty by Obama. Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming that Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.

Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut’s Secretary of State, making a similar argument to Donofrio’s. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.

Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state’s 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public’s support.

Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama’s vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.

Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama’s eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama’s citizenship. His case was denied.

In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied. [12]

Also in Ohio, there was the Greenberg v. Brunner case which ended when the judge threatened to assess all case costs against the plaintiff. [13]

In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama’s citizenship. The case was denied.

In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama’s birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia’s secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.

California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters. [14]

Dr. Chiyome Fukino Issues Another “Transparency Dodger” Statement on President Obama’s Birth Certificate

The issue of what Dr. Fukino actually viewed to make the determination that the President was in fact Hawaii born is quite relevant, since the State of Hawaii switched all of its birth records from hard copy to digital in 2001.

Almost all news commentators, including Chris Mathews of MSNBC recently, have assumed that Dr. Fukino’s October 31, 2008 statement meant she had physically viewed the original hard copy of the President’s 1961 birth certificate. Yesterday’s statement seems to indicate it is more likely that Dr. Fukino viewed an electronic record and not a physical hard copy, but it is still not definitive.

though primary evidence of his birth in Hawaii is thought to exist in hard copy form in Kapiolani Hospital (which he claims as his birthplace) this data has not been released.

The State of Hawaii Department of Health Statements, rather than shedding light on the source of primary evidence in their possession, have fueled suspicions that information is being withheld. And, in fact, some relevant information has been withheld.

So?....just exactly what are these highest military officers afraid of losing? Are you suggesting something sinister here?

If they have been threatened with harm to themselves or to their families, then it is their DUTY BEFORE GOD and their oath to defend the Constitution, to expose these thuggish threats and the corruption in the chain of command!

WHEN did hiding corruption, dishonesty, and threats become part of the military code of honor??? Geeze! To think that a fair number of these highest officers are graduates of our military academies. Well...The thought turns my mind to jelly!

If they even suspect corruption, or have been threatened, it their lawful right to seek clarification from Congress, Obama, and the Supreme Court. Isn't it their lawful right to hold a press conference outlining their concerns coupled with handing in their resignations?

Personally,....I have written these guys off! There is no possible way I would depend upon these highest military officers to honor their oaths to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies.
