I believe that certain character traits are part of a race just as they are in the animal kingdom.

And this is where you've gone wrong as Muslims aren't a race, they come in all people groups and colors.

What constitutes a race of people anyway? I happen to believe it is a grouping of people who share common cultural customs and mores. Muslims share a complete lifestyle. They share common dress, the foods they eat, who they can marry, how they behave in marriage to their spouse and children, how they behave to outsiders, and, how they worship. Race is much more than just skin color and language. Because they share a wide array of common behavioral traits and characteristics, I do not believe it is a stretch to define Muslims as a race.

Race has nothing to do with common behavioral traits and characteristics. Race has nothing to do with language groups, food, dress or religion.

There are in the anthropological sense, three races. If you are a modernist, then four. Additionally, current "feel good" PC speak notes "mixed race" as a group. A person that practices the religion of Islam may belong to any race, much as a Catholic or a Protestant. There are language groups that are confused as race, (i.e. Hispanic), tribes (i.e. Arabs) and regional identifiers confused as race.

While you can believe anything you want, that doesn't make it so.
Muslims are a very heterogenious group whose beliefs and customs are in fact very different. Most of these groups believe that the other groups are heretics. They would just as soon kill each other as us.
It's the basic ideology that leads to such outcomes. The ideology comes from the Koran which, if you've ever read it, is a real hodgepodge of ideas. It is not a cohesive work which is why there is such a huge variety of muslims. But they share common things like killing the infidel.

It's the ideology......not the people.
