I’ve been up so many nights with the dog, she was 15 yo, and had been getting so cold, without shivering, that I knew she was near her time. I wrapped her in a towel, and held her on my lap to keep her warm, otherwise I think she would have been gone days ago. She quit eating 2 days ago, but still was taking water.

The mastiff was so sympathetic, he kept coming over to “wash her face.” They were great friends.

Hope your horse gets up and going. I hate to see a dumb animal suffer.

Thanks, she’ll be fine, I have a great vet who comes right over. I’ve lost many a dog in my day, you were blessed to get to hold her while she went. You know, not that I believe all of it,as I think some are clearly lying, dazed and confused, but some seem sincere, there’s a cable show called “I survived a near death experience” or something like that, and this one woman said she went up a golden stairway and sat down on it while “dead” and she saw dogs and cats running up the stairs and jumping into the light. Well, true or not, I thought it was great imagery.

the good news for that woman was she’s going to heaven. the bad news is she’s getting buried in a pet cemetary
