You still haven’t answered danamco’s three questions. I’ll try to condense them into one:

If cops throughout the nation are contributing towards their own pensions, why shouldn’t you?

#1 What fundraiser link are you talking about?

#2 RE: Stupid FRS Employee Contribution proposal by Rick Scott and others..

I have explained this over and over again to LIBERALS.. I would think that FReepers were “smarter” than that and did not need the obvious stated.. but here it is..

ALL of a government employees income is “public” money one way or another.. so an employee contributing toward their retirement is nothing but a shell game.. When determinging a government agency’s compensation/benefit plan you ONLY need to look at the “bottom” line... what is the difference between increasing an employee’s salary and deducting a portion of it to contribute toward the retirement plan. Or paying the employee LESS of a “salary” HOWEVER having the agency contribute 100% of the employees contribution.... Think about it for just a second and you will see that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is the only “agency” that benefits from the HIGHER SALARY because it puts the employee in a higher tax bracket and makes them pay higher taxes to Uncle Sam.. yet the take home pay month to month is exactly the same..... I would rather, and I think the taxpayers would rather, give me a lower salary and have the agency (in my case the Sheriff’s Office) pay my contribution into the Retirement plan than to raise my salary and then take it back leaving the take home pay exactly the same..

Any Questions?

Having said that... there is one other issue that is the BIG ELEPHANT in the room that is not getting much press.. but is another reason I will NOT publicly endorse Rick Scott...

Not only does he want to play a shell game with the Florida Retirement System he also wants to “borrow” money from the FRS Trust fund in order to fund ...... hmmmm can anyone say Social Security mess -— Florida Style?

#1 The one you posted in post 39!

#2 You initially posted here YOU were going for Alex Sink on the thread the big Kahuna yanked, rightfully so, totally out of sync with your own "about" page!!

Where I come from, the employer contributed 16% and the employee 8% into a pension plan out of the reach of the government's finger, but with oversight from a third party. Worked pretty well and had NO reflection on salary increases at all. Those pension plans still increases their money in the "kettle" from running dry by sound investments. In addition employee could set aside a monthly deduction from their monthly pay check into private pension plans that grew so fast that the government's spying eyes got "reddish" colors and would put on a 40% extra tax if taking out in one lump-sum. Regardless of the "theft," you still came out ahead with a decent retirement!!!

Still you wanted Alex Sink because the Sheriff pointed for her with sour grapes???

Your assumptions prove again that you spout off against someone you do not know.. I asked you to call me and you did not..yet you continue to bash me publicy.... EVERYONE who knows me.. and there are a lot of freepers who do... knew that I posted that in jest... yet you continue to bash me after 10 years as a FReeper with deep conservative roots... you and your kind are disgusting and don’t help the coservative cause with your PARTY above all attitude... you owe me a PUBLIC apology big time.. but I won’t hold my breath for it.. my thread was deleted because too many FReepers were whinning about my so called endorsement of Alex Sink and because I won’t publicly beg everyone to vote for Rick Scott.. I will vote for Scott like a good sheeple pubble is supposed to but I will not campaign for him.... we can do better next time...

You’re just acting coy, you know quite well that danamco was referring to GOOOH and that link you post over and over and over again. It’s called shilling. I visited the site. Good luck with your recruitment attempts, but in my humble opinion, GOOOH isn’t GOOOHing anywhere.

As for the rest of your post - WOW - what a spin!

Maybe I’m not as smart as the liberals you know are. I’m just a dumb retired civil servant and the widow of obviously a dumber government employee … a law enforcement officer. We both GLADLY contributed into our pension systems, just like most, if not all, other governmental employees throughout this nation do. We were grateful and thankful … we knew how lucky we’d be with a guaranteed post-retirement income.

Do you know how many people DON’T have that guarantee? My daughter who has her own business used to have to turn down work – now she’s lucky if she gets a call once a week. My ironworker son-in-law has been unemployed for months. Neither will have a post-retirement check arriving at their door, I supplement their income now. Neither will have a continuation of other benefits like you will. The majority of your fellow AMERICANS don’t have those guarantees.

Getting their cake and eating it too …

My NYPD sergeant nephew lost his leg in an accident. He knew he wasn’t going to return to the job but sucked on the government t.i.t for five years on full-pay sick-leave before turning in his papers and taking a disability retirement. My FDNY nephew, a 9/11 responder, has excellent health coverage that will continue beyond his active years, yet is seeking a cash settlement … in case he gets sick somewhere down the road. Any wonder that they both vote the straight democratic ticket?

Good Lord, who said anything about INCREASING your salary ???

Do you now receive longevity pay, uniform allowance, paid holidays, shift differential, annual, sick and personal leaves? What about legal representation, death and disability benefits? Do you get special deals and discounts when you flash your tin at restaurants, attractions and hotels? Do you have out-of-pocket expenses for your medical coverage? Do you get to park your shiny police vehicle in your driveway? Do you take tuition-free college courses? Do you get reimbursed day-care, dental insurance, drug coverage, optical benefits and a special rate for auto insurance? I could go on and on but you get the picture, don’t you?

You get an awful lot and you’re still whining!

You want the best of both worlds … to get something for nothing. Are the SKELLS that drive the back roads of Florida worse than those who ride the subways and walk the mean streets of New York City are? How many terrorist bomb threats, murders, rapes, assaults, arsons, larcenies, burglaries, and car theft calls do you respond to? Violent crime vs. property crime? Is it merely speeding tickets and DUIs?

How much are your UNION dues? Shouldn’t I, the taxpayer, know how much of MY money is being sent to fund your union? If that same amount went to the pension system instead, you wouldn’t notice a change in you take-home pay. Maybe it’s time to dump your union. You state that you are a Conservative, now prove it instead of sounding like an SEIU drone: “Gimmee, gimmee, gimmee”.

‘Tho if you really want to sock-it to the taxpayers, you might want to become a union official. I know a fellow who became his PBA’s “legislative chairman”. He spent weekdays at the state capital. Most of his upstate wheeling and dealing was done at political dinners. Then he’d come back to the City and work OVERTIME on weekends. Politics does make strange bedfellows . . . his wife holds a very high position in the Conservative Party.

Listen, I don’t want to fight with you. I’m so glad this election season will soon be over. But one last thing . . . if your pro-Alex Sink thread was posted only in jest, it proves to me that you have a very weird sense of humor.

FYI - Clip of Alex Sink at debate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih1fMfUeqz0

before you continue to bash me over the head with my paycheck and compare my 0% “employee contribution” to others who “contribute” I suggest you take a good look at the bottom line.. you will find that those who “contribute” are ALREADY paid a MUCH higher salary than those of us who do not.. and that the “bottom line” is probably about the same if not HIGHER for the “contributor”... So let’s not play games and pretend that it is more “honorable” or “patriotic” for cops to have a percentage of their salary deducted so that they can say they PAID something out of their pocket.. when in reality it is ALL taypayer money no matter how you slice it... so if you want to compare bottom line compensation packages let’s do so..

EVERYONE who knows me.. and there are a lot of freepers who do... knew that I posted that in jest...

NO, Buddy, there was absolutely NO jesting in your thread, nothing whatsoever. It was very clearly stated that you were going to vote for Sink and NOT for Scott, because you fell for the Sheriff's own selfishness about his and your pension and you fell full face down and tried to persuasive other FRiends, whether they know you or not, to vote like YOU!

JimRob saw your thread for what it was and called you to go somewhere else with your CRAP!!

If anyone needs to make a public apology to other FReepers it's YOU, and then we maybe forgive you for being on the wrong side of the fence. Don't try the Lib tactic telling we are less Conservative. Your failed thread proved clearly that WE are more Conservative than YOU. That's why we opposed your thread, and fund rising post is NOT allowed on FR. period!!!

You're still "tap-dancing" and trying to white wash your failed thread and fund-raising attempts!

Our uber Conservative of any FReeper Conservative, the big Kahuna did NOT know you enough!!

He washed your mouth with Lysol big time for being a crap poster. And most Friends post their opinions on this site, NOT by one-to-one telephone conversations. What a jesting of spin. Join us on the usurper ineligibility threads, and we can talk!!!

That's an outright lying statement!

I never said that!!

When you continue to spin and trying to whitewash yourself like that, I'm tempted to call you just that. I got to run I have to drive down from Tampa to S.Fla to do my CONSERVATIVE voting. JimRob did NOT agree with you, and HIS wording was in line with what your quoted line above, dude!!!

DCO: Have you noticed yhow few FReepers agree with you

That is NOT true, Dave. The entire Florida board has been jumping down your throat.

and you continue to bash me calling me a liberal taxpayer sucking leech

The only person who has used those words, Dave, is you, yourself.

QUESTION: Why do you have no qualms about paying dues to your UNION but you'll fight to the death to avoid paying for your PENSION?

BTW#1: The starting salary for a New York City Police Officer is about $25,000 - - - and the cost of living is much HIGHER there than it is here.

BTW#2: In the mid 1970's when I began employment with the City of New York, the City was experiencing a FISCAL crises. I had to take an immediate 10% reduction in pay and still pay union dues and pension contributions.

Have you noticed yhow few FReepers agree with you...

NO I didn't, but most on your stupid thread, that you're trying to spin yourself out off, gave you a lot of flack!!

However, I did notice that JimRob certainly agreed with most of US, hmmmm!!!
