The sharp left turn of the NRA has been disgraceful. I ended my membership several months ago. I’ll NOT pay dues or belong to an organization which has to think long and hard about endorsing HARRY REID for God’s sake.

"The sharp left turn of the NRA has been disgraceful. I ended my membership several months ago. While they did not endorse him they rated him the same as Brian Sandoval. An endorsement under cover for Reid if you ask me.

They should denounce Harry and his son Rory but it seems they won't.

If it wasnt for the only shooting range in town being a NRA range, Ive been very tempted to cancel my membership this year. They endorsed Chet Edwards down in Texas, a very liberal Dem who only plays nice about 2nd Amendment rights during the election season but is Nancy Pelosis boy toy the rest of the year. If you continue to support NRA, you might as well make a donation directly to Edwards.

Why worry about who NRA does or doesn’t “approve”...especially in other states?
What I don’t understand is why people read, let alone pay any attention to, any groups “endorsements”.
I’m sure the same listings are in my current American Hunter, but I won’t bother looking at them.
Factual information on actual votes cast is a different matter.
I’m perfectly capable of checking my own ballot’s candidates’ records and positions (not always the same thing!) for myself. I don’t need others, often totally ignorant of all other issues involved locally, to tell me who to vote for or against, based on their single-issue “ratings”.
As for NRA’s pink postcards listing the “approved” slate, they get tossed in the trash without being read before I leave the Post Office.
And, like all other commercials, political ads are muted and not watched; I KNOW they are all partisan, either supporting my conclussions, or insulting my intelligence.

But the problem is some vote based on endorsments by this group or that. I base my decisions on who might follow The Constitution and stay the hell out of my personal life. not too many of them out there.

The NRA sent me their magazine, with NO endorsement for Oregon senator. Wyden (green liberal) vs a real conservative. Since Wyden voted for both of Obama’s leftist, gun hating, supreme court nominees, that should have resulted in an endorsement for his conservative, constitution supporting, opponent. I’ve lost faith in the NRA. Just gone.

The problem is that the bad guys actually use those endorsements in their advertising to a bunch of people who are influenced.
Just as an example, Chet Edwards (liberal Democrat who is great at faking conservative features) has actually had ads claiming the NRA endorsed him “over Bill Flores.”
My NRA dues, against my will, financed making it possible for Chet to run an ad like that, which not only falsely implies that Chet is a friend of orthodox Americanism with regard to arms, but that his GOOD GUY opponent, by implication, is himself a bad guy on the issue! Double damage.
If the NRA actually gets their endorsements elected, Congress will STILL be in Democrat hands, controlled by a bunch of people who every day try to kill orthodox Americanism with regard to both arms and everything else..
The NRA’s unnecessary endorsements of incumbents are outrageous and is are the exact same kind of “compromise” that we are fighting against in this election. Why put up with RINOs? Why put up with a second amendment version of RINOism from the NRA?

I'm a life member as well. I think meaningful change in the NRA will be easier to accomplish than people think. I imagine there will be a whole slate of "cleanse the ILA" board member candidates for the next set of elections.
I am hoping the NRA will get rocked.
