I could care less about the media and “our betters”. What I care about is giving the media the raw material with which they can convincingly make us look like a bunch of freaks such that not only the moderates and independents but also reserved conservatives that we need to win elections start to believe that the Tea Party, Freepers, and so on really are freaks. You have the freedom to donate money to Media Matters and MoveOn.org but that would be stupid. Helping the enemy is stupid.

I head Right to Life in my town. Pro-Lifers use signs to communicate, professionl quality signs, so I think they are appropriate, and potentially effective.

But the signs are deadly serious; media coverage of them promotes that deadly serious message.

Let's encourage each other to do the same: make a serious, truthful, professionally-looking sign. They will look great above the fold of the NYT.

Maybe we should just preemptively surrender before we make anyone look bad?

Then why worry about it when you admit they are going to do their best to make us look bad anyway.

Because the more freaky they can make us look, the more credible their attempts to depict us as freaky will look to people who don't know any better.

I have never understood why so many people in life worry about what others think about them.

What's the point of protesting?

You made yourself a victim when you allowed Beck to control your emotions. He gave an opinion on strategy and you took it as personal. You seem to care a lot about what Beck thinks, because you are trying to prove him wrong. And you want to use his “attack” on you to get other people to agree with you. That is how victims act.

Too many people on this thread are starting to react like emotional liberals instead of listening to ideas from their own side.

“Way to completely ignore both points and give a personal rant. What strategy has Beck set up that has worked or has not worked?

I doubt that all 20 people dressed up or the 100 with signs put Beck where he is.”

Sir your math is faulty, all these rallies across this great land we are talking thousands and thousands.

I sometimes wonder if the excluded middle fallacy is the only type of argument allowed on the Internet. Is it really that difficult for conservatives to look like the sort of people that normal people would want to associate themselves with? I wasn't aware that not looking like freaks and not scaring away families and normal people would be such a burden for conservatives.

When I heard Glenn and friend ridiculing someone in a Statue of Liberty costume the other morning on his radio station my stomach turned. Glenn wants us to without question respect his chosen "Imams, Pastors and Rabbis" assembled on his 8/28 stage yet he makes fun of the average "guy or girl" that is led by their convictions to purchase an costume representing a American patriotic symbol and wear it to a gathering. It takes guts to walk miles in a Statue of Liberty costume...it takes zero boldness to hold a martini glass in a "progressive gathering" and make fun of the little "people" and their signs and costumes. 10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Beck didn’t start the Tea Party movement - that was Rick Santelli - and I’ll bet he likes the costumes...

And how many of them dress up?

If there are 20k at a rally, how many would you say dress up? How many have signs?

The comment was that the people dressing up and having signs put Beck where he is, and I dont think there are anywhere near enough people in those two groups to have that kind of radio and television power.

Thanks, this is easiest the stupidest thing I read today. Beck, nor you control my emotions. I do NOT watch him, and I do NOT listen to him anymore for some time now.

Beck is about Beck mostly and is trying to make himself BOSS of the Tea Party. I have never claimed to wear costumes or even attend the Tea Party rallies. As far as being an emotional liberal, you are more like one talking down to people and telling them how to behave in "your" world.

I agree. It just seems there’s a 1% to 3% of people that feel the need to dress that way. More power to them. I just don’t like how the state-controlled media feels the need to feature that person on the front-page as an example of all of us. Most people are private, like me, and cringe that the average Joe thinks someone like that must be a kook.

I understand the passion behind the costume and appreciate it. Just adds fuel to the fire for the opposition. If the media was fair, go for it. But it’s not.

Easy there bub. I think that’s “morale” you’re trying to talk about, not “moral.”

Beck’s strategy, wow, after watching him gather hundreds of thousands of people to Washington D.C. I’d have to say his strategies seem to pay off. I have to believe my lying eyes on this one.

So who gets to decide who is “normal”? You? Name calling (freaks comment) is such a dignified statement. So now, dressing as Betsy Ross make one a freak. I wouldn’t want to live in your world.

Yep. A dress code for protesting. If we’re going to continue to worry about what the MSM and the libs think about us we’ll never accomplish anything.
