In 25 years as a US Naval officer, I've never seen nor heard any racist remark made to or about anyone. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but in all of America's great institutions, it exists least in the US military, IMHO.

Hersh is a D-Bag, and is given to embellishment, in the extreme.

There is a certain level of prejudice in the Pentagon (and elsewhere in the military) but it isn't racial. It's against know-it-all amateurs who send good men and women into harm's way thinking it's all a political game. It's against people who never served a day imagining that they understand the whole thing from reading Sergeant Rock comic books and their equivalent on the left, Noam Chomsky. It's against ideological nitwits who consider the U.S. so evil that dead servicemembers is social justice. And yes, Mr. Hersh, it's against journalists who make a career out of sensationalizing the inevitable mistakes and when even these are insufficient, making them up out of whole cloth. I have a good deal of that sort of prejudice myself.

Godwin’s Law should be appleid to any and all uses of the race card. This is utter ridiculous. The military is pissed at Barry for the simple fact that Barry is playing politivs with the Afghanistan issue, which is costing LIVES!

If Hersh can’t figure that out, he should feel free to make any all of his arguments excuses Barry utilizing the bogus race card....null and void.

No one ever calculates a batting average for Hersh.

He published a lot of stuff in The New Yorker during the Bush administration that all but guaranteed things that never happened.

His use of vaguely identified sources - sometimes leads to the distinct impression that he talked to one or two people in evaluating the basis for his "scoop", but refers to them obliquely in different ways (attaches different labels) to suggest that the sources are some multitude of people "in the know". When in fact they are often one or two sources (during the Bush administration - Democrats out of power and hating every minute of it). By masking his sources to such a degree he is asking us to take on faith that he has found an accurate source of insight, and when you look back at his reportage, it just isn't true.
