I supported John Faulk in his campaign last year. TX-18 voted 77% Zero but there is a vocal minority of fed-up Republicans and independents that desperately wants new congressional representation.
I attended Wednesday night’s town hall meeting with SJL (not the one at which she took phone calls), and Faulk was in attendance. We in the opposition made sure to express our side at the event; there was palpable tension in the room. The frowny SEIU and ACORN people (with t-shirts!) were front and center, but overall it was about 50-50.
I do too. Sheila is just abjectly awful. The district is gerrymandered to Voting Rights Act specifications, and is currently rated as the 400th most Republican district in the US (i.e., near the bottom, at D+24) in the Cook Partsan Voting Index, so candidates who are not Marxists admittedly face an uphill battle.
Wow. Sounds like a battle and then some. I will keep the faith. Miracles do happen.
I am afraid I need to learn more about the Voting Rights Acts, Cook Partsan Voting Index, etc. I am familiar but that is about it.
Good luck with your battle. Faulk is lucky to have you in his corner.
