I would like to see what my fellow FReepers suggest, but slamming the door on them seems like the most efficient way to deal with them.

Now note that they will not come to your door with an Acorn badge on. It will be some satellite named group to hide the reason.

My plan.

Just ask them which Republicans they are supporting for office. Problem gone.

If you are referencing the Census takers....only a few in major cities are Acorn employees......
Most are just regular folks (a lot of college kids) who need a temporary job and are serving the US in a noble cause, the US census......
That stated, the invasiveness of the questions that they have been given is of concern.
Outside of the mandatory constitutionally mandated questions of number of people and age at the residence, my understanding is that you can refuse to answer all other questions and ask them to leave.........
Now, if you have an Acorn person show up to take the census, then answer the legiimate questions and have fun.....just make sure you video record the entire confrontation because there is a good chance they WILL file a complaint with local law enforcement (regardless of merit) to intimidate you and others.

Oh so, you're from Acorn? Why are you bothering me? What is your name? Why are you trespassing on my property?Keep your hands where I can see them. Don't make any sudden movements.
To: nevergore
Answer the door speaking some crazy gibberish language.
What are they gonna do?
Call for an interpreter?....:)

Just don’t answer the door.
To: Man50D
It won’t likely be an ACORN rep that makes it this far out into the sticks, I’d say. BUT, whoever shows up will get the minimum information necessary to ‘count’ my household, and that is it.
It’s time to push the gubmint back within the constraints of the US Constitution.

The first thing you see as you approach my [locked] front gate is this:

I have yet to have anybody climb over the gate to see if I'm "kidding".

Why would they be coming to the door? They usually mail out the census and then only come to the door if you failed to send it in.
