If we make English the official language, Spanish will quickly become the second official language.

Why? 84% of the American people want English as the official language.

If we don’t have an official language... well, then how can Spanish become an official language?

Because there is a strong push among Hispanics, now 16% of the population and over 30% by 2050 to make it mandatory for official business to be conducted in Spanish as well as English. In none of the states that have made English the official language has there been a movement to make Spanish the second official language. English is the official language in 70 countries, what is your objection to making it ours, especially in view of the massive immigration into this country?

Our culture today wants to do what is nice instead of doing what is good. If we stopped printing things in more than one language, it may not be nice (people would grumble), but it would be good (people will learn English more quickly).

I guess you don't understand our laws, which require such thing as ballots to be printed in other languages. Are you familiar with EXECUTIVE ORDER 13166--IMPROVING ACCESS TO SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY? I suggest you read it.

Here is a detailed list of the impact of how this Executive Order affects the operation of the federal government.

Attitudes and beliefs can’t be changed by passing a law.

Perhaps, but behavior can be changed. Teddy Roosevelt said it best, "We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, and American nationality, not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house."

We do have an official language it is English. Why do i say this well because Spanish is an elective in school. I do not like the fact that I have to learn Spanish just to get a job. Excuse me but why cant the Spanish people learn English? It is because they don’t have a need to they want us Americans to learn their language instead of them learning English. I was at the Social Security office the other day and a man who claimed to have lived here for over 35 years and did not know one word of English. He was at this office to learn how he can receive his security checks because he was over 65. Now you know this is wrong right?
