As I said, Heinlein wrote better fiction and his men were usually more mature. His heroes saw no reason to coerce women into sex, much less rape them.
Heinlein shared many ideas with Rand. Like her, he’s thought of as a libertarian.
However, Heinlein wrote with an understanding of family, community and the value of self-sacrifice.
“As I said, Heinlein wrote better fiction and his men were usually more mature. His heroes saw no reason to coerce women into sex, much less rape them.”
RAPE them? WTF? Are we talking about Fountainhead? You interpreted that much differently than I.
Intellect and personal experience tells me she was illustrating a woman’s surrender to a man PHYSICALLY—wanting to be dominated by a physically stronger MALE. This is not rape, this is great sex, FRiend. (Opinions will vary, I’m sure. But this is true for most.)
“Heinlein shared many ideas with Rand. Like her, he’s thought of as a libertarian.”
I haven’t read Heinlein but I can rell with 100% certainty that Rand was NOT a libertarian.
“However, Heinlein wrote with an understanding of family, community and the value of self-sacrifice.”
That “self-sacrifice” thing you just mentioned. This is a MONUMENTAL difference between Heinlein and Rand.
In fact, if that’s true then it would negate any attempt to draw so many similarities. Ayn Rand spent a good portion of her life advocating against the “value” of self-sacrifice.
I wouldn’t jump on a grenade to save a crowd of blood-sucking leftists, but I would in a heartbeat to save my wife and children—and I wouldn’t consider it self-sacrifice—I would have saved that which I value above all else.
Are you Heinlein’s publisher, or something?
I’m gonna check this out later when I get home,,, thanks
You are very welcome.
Thanks for posting that. I will be using the Christian response for my morning post. Thanks

Gotcha. Thanks for your reply.
Yes, there is now doubt Rand would be horribly disgusted about the current events in Washington.
You’re welcome. Enjoyed your post. Did you see Miss Rand’s interview with Tom Snyder?-

God obviously gifted Miss Rand with a magnificent brain, regardless of whether she acknowledged Him for being the Creator of it. I wish she had become a Christian during her lifetime, not just for her own sake but also because I think with her mind she would’ve made a brilliant apologist for the Christian faith.
