I believe that was the hew and cry from the congress when GM and the others began to whine about running out of money.
Of course the unions don’t want anybody to file for bankruptcy because THAT CANCELS THE FORMER CONTRACTS.
If those contracts are cancelled .. then the dem idiots will not be receiving their typical payoffs from the unions.
When is the public going to figure this out ..??
Unions at there best! Work Rules are the Ultimate Killers that leaves the Payroll bloated!
It is just the work rules that aren’t weighing 22lbs they weigh down the entire company!

Don’t think the rank-and-file would necessarily agree to what their “bosses” are doing. Too bad the autocompanies couldn’t go right to the workers.
What the UAW doesn’t realize is that they really don’t have friends in Washington anymore. Those days are gone.
So it would seem.
