The best thing is to never see ANY remakes. You can count the good ones on one hand. And usually they weren’t made any time near the present.
There’s a double entendre in your statement I don’t wish to pursue.
Two stories.
1) Back in the '60s there was a group of anti-machine wackos who collected money and bought a brand new car. They then dug a huge hole and buried the car in an act of rebellion against the mechanical age. The photo showed them all standing around the car in the hole carrying all the usual signs. Perhaps/perhaps not the photographer was making a subtle point, but in the picture, off to one side, was the bulldozer the kids used to dig the hole.
2) I worked with an anti-nuke, no-blood-for-oil enviro. She told with with great pride how she attended a rally that blocked the entrance to a refinery. I asked her how she got there. "A bunch of us drove there." I told her I'd have a lot more respect for her if she had walked there and saved the gas. "Are you crazy?" she asked, "That place was over 20 miles away!" She failed to see the disconnect. And yeah, she was a Democrat.
Dark Knight was a pretty good remake.
I'm feeling some Global warming in my pants.
Of what? It was a SEQUEL!

The answer to most of your questions is - It stunk to high heavan and tnone of those things mattered... I love movies too and this was not worth it....
I am not a movie reviewer, just a conservative writer....
However, the answer to your last qustion was unfortunatley no... they did not even make her look as hot as the photos you see of her around the net...
They even screwed that up!!!!
E-Gads....
Remake of Batman, 1989.
has the entire movie synopsis without the need to PAY A SINGLE DIME to the Hollywood imbeciles.
You seriously went to this movie thinking it would be an intelligent flick? You haven’t been paying attention.
Love how the scientist’s first solution to the object heading towards impacting earth is for the military to launch a missile at it. The same group that opposed SDI from the start then freaks when the missile is disabled and no backup is available. Just before impact the scientists are saying the “Our Father”.
Promoting SDI and prayer, I guess its not 100% left wing dribble.
How so? Because the main villain was “The Joker”? They are entirely different movies. Harvey “Two Face” Dent wasn’t in the ‘89 version, he was in 1995’s “Batman Forever” with Jim Carrey’s “Riddler” turn.
THEN THE MOVIE SUCKED!!!
Was Invasion a remake of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers from the 70s or was the one in the 70s a remake of the one in the 50s? Plots are basically the same but they are different movies, even the messages may have changed.
To me Dark Knight was by far the best Batman movie but since it falls into the realm of Batman and the plot and characters are pretty much the same it's pretty much a 'remake'.
If we'd take Batman and put him up against Al Gorenomus who is bent on turning Gotham City into a environmental sans human habitat for indigenous mules, then I'd call it an original.
Not wishing to split hairs with you, but a “remake” is when a movie shares the title and same general plot of the original, like “Day The Earth Stood Still” or the recent “Casino Royale”.
On the other hand, “Dark Knight” was a SEQUEL to “Batman Begins”, that is, it continues the story of the earlier movie, much like “Quantum of Solace” continues “Casino Royale”.
You wouldn’t call “The Empire Strikes Back” a remake of “Star Wars”, would you? Didn’t think so.
