i agree with you completely.
I never heard it. I heard a long time ago John didn't think George had any tallent. John and Paul kinda remind me of two others Don and Glen in another group. The band had plenty of tallent but they wanted the spot light on themselves and became control freaks of sorts. The result was a band split and before that a loss of several musicans far better than themselves. Don and Glen didn't learn a thing :>{
Harrison could write songs as well as play them. He likely was a far better player though which is fine too. BTW his life was connected to a lot of people. Look at the song George wrote "Something" and then the songs Clapton wrote Wonderful Tonight and Layla ironically about the same woman. A real story that nearly destroyed three lives.
ANY defense of the insipid, self-righteous, self-important, selfish and worthless Lennon and his “music” speaks volumes about many things, including the defender.
Lennon and McCartney were competent POP writers when together. Without each other to edit out the utter dross, they became self-indulgent and unlistenable.
“Silly Love Song”, anybody? How about “So This Is Christmas?”
GAAK!
bump
Was that lp called Some Time in New York City, featuring Elephant’s Memory backing him and Yoko with Phil Spector producing?
