It's not a hospital registration, which leaves open the claim that he was born in Kenya, then flown to Hawaii to register.

The certificate has a name like "Mohammed" on it, that they don't want people to know about.

The certificate lists a father they don't want people to know about.

My personal belief is that he was born in Hawaii, but that there's something on the birth certificate that would embarass him, and might cause him to lose votes. It might be as simple as his birth name being listed as Barry Dunham. Nothing wrong with that, but it'd prove that he's reinvented himself along the way.

This entire thing is a distraction that makes the GOP and it’s surrogates appear to not want to talk about the issues. Some say this is an issue. I say, the economy, the war on terror, victory in Iraq, immigration, border security are the issues. Not some piece of paper.

For a while there, I was wondering if it might be some kind of reverse October Surprise. That is, let the right build up a head of steam over this and then authorize the release of an authentic COLB. He could (given an authentic COLB) make his opponents look pretty foolish this way.

As we get closer and closer to the election though, that is looking less likely.
