Please point to even one of the characteristics you rattled off, which makes Huckabee (less) formidable an opponent for democrats to run against?

You just defined Reagan Democrat.

I’m one of those conservatives that tunes into Air America from time to time just for the amusement, and I can tell you the host and callers agree that Huckabee is the easiest one to beat out of the top 5 candidates. They were excited by two week media blitz pushing him to the top.

Keep telling yourself that and next November will be a worse disaster than 2006.

I live here in DC, I know this to be fact that they truly believe Hucksterbee is a joke, which he is.

I think it’s an entirely, orchestrated bluff. Big time.

Drudge as is often the case, is being played like a fiddle, by his many Hollywood and media contacts.

If democrats really thought that, they would be keeping very, very quiet about it...

Democrats never. *Never* tell the truth.

Hence the reason for the New York Times propping him up.

Bluff!!

Democrats are frightened of Huckabee.

He’s got teflon. The more he’s attacked, the more people like him.

Attacking is all Democrats do.

They’re toast, if Huckabee gets the nod.

DNC leak on DRUDGE the same days as the strange Corrupt News Network poll is extremely suspicious

other polls conflict

OK well, we disagree then.

I’ll let someone else run blocking for Huckabee for a while, gotta run. Have at it. :)

I am absolutely repulsed by Huckabee. To me he is the second coming of Jimmy Carter—who also mentioned “Jesus” every two seconds and was a liberal masquerading as a conservative. If the GOP embraces this ass clown then we deserve to lose the White House.

Yup, nothing will get the base more fired up than a pro-life Democrat with a Willie Horton problem!

Besides, why vote for Huckabee when you can get all the protectionism and nanny-state policies you ever need from Hillary?

I’m afraid it’s true. Huckabee would be lucky to carry four states. Moreover, if by some miracle he got elected, he would govern far to the left of a President Giuliani. Rudy talks liberal on selected issues, but acts like a conservative most of the time. With Huckabee it would be just the reverse.

“Vice President Chuck Norris, will preside over a new American conservative renaissance, starting in 2016... :)”

Very interesting. Both Putin and Norris are marshall arts people (Putin is a Judo dude). I wonder if we could arrange a sparing session between the two? I would love to see Putin’s face slammed into the mat.... :-)

My problem with Huckabee is not an issue of electability any more than it is with Rudy. I would be opposed to him even if there was a guarantee that he could win in November of 2008. I simply do not want another big government "conservative" setting the agenda for the GOP. Two terms of Bush was bad enough, Huckabee would be worse.

That, much more than the electability issue, is my problem with Huckabee. The fact that he is perceived as a conservative would only make it worse.
